My highly contested divorce/ Parenting Plan proceedings started in September 2020. I quickly obtained representation from an attorney in the Everett area. By November I had a bill stating I had used up my retainer and I owed more. I felt extremely financially taken advantage of. He was almost impossible to contact and didn’t seem to care about my situation. Court hearings were looming in the future but I couldn’t keep my current attorney nor did I want to. I represented myself for almost two months while I searched for an attorney to represent me again. I was doubtful that there was such a thing as an honest attorney. But then there was Selby Lighthill. Mr Lighthill began representing me in January of 2021. He was honest from the very beginning. He was able to relate to divorce due to his own personal experience. Though he had practiced Law for many years in California, Family Law was a rather new animal and he was honest about that. Mr. Selby Lighthill is a night and day difference. First, he listens. I felt heard for the first time in months. Secondly, He returns my emails promptly. Thirdly, He truly believes in being honest. He quickly put me at ease and I was able to trust him. Since January Mr. Lighthill has represented me with honesty and integrity. I have felt that he truly wants to know the situation so he can represent me to the best of his ability. He goes above and beyond to fight for his clients. He will not lie and he will not fight dirty. He fights with truth and he believes truth is always best. Empathetic and Helpful

Mr. Selby helped me when i was illegally evicted. He was so helpful and went out of his way for me. He was super empathetic and caring while dealing with a very crazy landlord. Thank you so much for all your work and for helping protect island workers

Compassionate consultation

Selby took the time to chat with my about a sticky legal conundrum, even though it was not something he could help me with in an official capacity. I appreciate his time and his kindness and patience. I would be happy to hire him if I have another issue come up.

Selby Lighthill is the best

Selby Lighthill was my guide through a very difficult and painful devorice. He provided clarity when I felt lost. The other attorneys I consulted made me feel insignificant. Island lawyer you can count on.

Lighthill Law helped me and my fiance though a tuff winter with a landlord who didn't want to uphold their end of the lease or abide by state law. He helped advise us insuring we were always within the law and help clarify the situation without needing to go to court. He helped tremendously, and didn't go out of his way to nickle and dime or push for a court battle to recoup legal fees. A true island assest. The one time he was running behind he let us know and always seemed to have the best outcome in mind.

Highly intelligent, communicative and helpful
