Kristi takes pride in being very responsive to her clients and giving them the best value for legal services. Having come from a modest background, she appreciates that not everyone can afford an attorney and she works with her clients to ensure that they have access to the court system. She offers her services at reasonable rates, takes cases on contingency, and volunteers her time with various non-profits to provide access to justice. Kristi is a communicator and is always available to her clients. She timely returns phone calls and e-mails and delivers customer service that is unheard of in the practice of law today.
Kristi values drive and perseverance, which she has demonstrated herself both personally and professionally. Anyone who has seen her in action will agree that she has a passion for law and belongs in the courtroom. Kristi demonstrates empathy, humility, understanding, and compassion with her clients while also being aggressive for their cause. She is a quick study and easily grasps complex issues. Her presentation of cases is both personal and professional; achieving just the right balance for telling her client’s story while applying the law to obtain a successful outcome.
Kristi is kind, understanding, and professional, yet she is also an aggressive litigator that will not back down, especially when she believes in the cause. She zealously advocates for her clients and is driven to provide them the best results. Kristi works extremely hard and spends countless unbilled hours thinking and strategizing. Her clients are often amazed at her recall of the facts of their case, often telling her that it is as if she lived it herself.
While Kristi is a strong advocate for her clients, she is also transparent and honest. She will not tell you that your case is great if it is not. She also will not pursue a matter just to make money. Instead, she provides an honest evaluation and offers solutions for resolving problems. She is a strategist with the knowledge and experience to provide her clients with the best legal representation possible to meet their goals.
Kristi was born in Montana, which inspired the name of the firm, and raised there until she was 10. Her family then moved to a small town in eastern Washington, Davenport, where she participated in just about every sport and extracurricular activity imaginable. She graduated from Davenport High School in 1994. Kristi attended college at the University of Montana and Heritage University, graduating summa cum laude from Heritage University in 1999. Kristi graduated from college and attended law school as a single mother. She got married during her third year of law school and had her second child, a son, in May 2003. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in June 2003 and passed the July 2003 bar examination when her son was just six weeks old. She has been a litigator in the Seattle area, and has taken on hundreds of cases throughout the state of Washington, since being admitted to the bar.
Kristi founded Sapphire Legal in 2017. The firm’s name originates in the Sapphire Mountains in Montana in honor of Kristi’s parents. Her stepfather, Bill, passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident in 2005 involving a drunk driver. His ashes rest in Montana's Sapphire Mountains. Bill was a compassionate, giving person, and was motivated by helping others. He would give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. Kristi’s mother, Lana, who raised Kristi as a single mother for many years, was born and raised in Montana and the sapphire is her birthstone. Kristi’s parents were hard workers and were very supportive of Kristi’s pursuit of a law degree as a single mother.
The firm’s name was also chosen because a sapphire is considered noble and is often worn by royalty. It is believed to provide protection and symbolizes strength, wisdom, and integrity, and it is thought to reveal fraud and deceit in others. With regard to the law, the sapphire symbolizes a speedy and just resolution. The sapphire is valuable and precious, yet strong, and symbolizes wisdom, integrity, and truth.
Sapphire Legal was established with these virtues in mind. The firm’s goal is to protect its clients and to provide knowledge, insight, and wisdom in every case it handles. The firm is straightforward and handles cases with integrity. Its clients receive a legal experience efficient in both time and money and effective in results. Sapphire Legal provides representation that makes it personal and about you.

Kristi is simply scary
I hired her last year to represent me in a dispute with my employer. She took $7,500 and sent one email - ONE EMAIL! - to the company! After that she just vanished. Her paralegals (who kept changing) kept stringing me along, in the end after 5 months of being jerked by her I went to another lawyer wh...

A Wonderful Attorney-Best Decision I Ever Made
Kristi's personal touch, communication style, and tenacious manner was a great combination for my case. I'm so glad that I was recommended to her and even happier that I chose to hire her. She listened intently, asked probing questions, challenged the perceptions and facts and went to work. Her writi...
