A great long term advocate
We have used Scott multiple times and find him to be highly skilled and professional. We originally hired to him to assist with mediation after a very poor experience with another firm. Scott was very knowledgeable with how the local court system works, providing insight into how judges may rule an...

Not completely Horrible
I retained Scott a few years ago to file for divorce and waited to write this review, knowing my emotions were pretty raw at the time. I had retained him for only $3,000 since my marriage had only been one year and no kids so he said it would be pretty simple. Then, my spouse got violent and left a b...
I do not recall this client's matter given it was years ago. I am, however, happy to hear his marriage ended up reconciled. I treat every client with the utmost compassion and respect. I am also always willing to discuss any billing issues with my clients. If that was the primary issue, I wish this client would have taken it up with me at the time rather than waiting years to post.

Great Advice
I called Mr Burkhalter for quick advice and consultation. I had just moved up here from So Cal. He gave me great advice and not only instructed but educated me on what to do. Was great advice and highly recommend him to friends.

Don't Hire
He sells himself so high and delivers so little as a lawyer. He will first low-ball you making you think that your case can be handled reasonably but at the end you will pay multiple times of the initial estimate. If he gives you an estimate, multiply it by 4 or 5 because that is what you will end ...
I respect attorney and client privacy. For these reasons I will not directly respond to this post other than to say there are many inaccuracies and complete untruths. I value, respect, and work hard for every client. A lawyer cannot change the facts of any given case, but, deal with the facts and shed them in the best possible light. --Scott

Successful Negotiation of Parenting Plan
Scott was overall a good lawyer. He was hired to help develop a negotiate a parenting plan. I will say that it took a bit longer than anticipated in the beginning to start the whole process. However, he made up for the lost time in the end and successfully negotiated a plan for me. All in all, a goo...

"As one of the more active trial lawyers in Snohomish County, I see most trial lawyers in Snohomish County and have had Scott as an "opposing counse" on numerous occasions. I have also worked with him trying to settle cases, successfully. He is realistic with his clients and does not just tell them what they want to hear. He has my full respect and serves his clients well. If I had a problem that needed representation, he is one of the first to whom I would turn."

His contributions to our legal community and his daily interactions with colleagues demonstrate his commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards.
