About me

Steve Edmiston has 25 years of expertise in business law and litigation, entertainment, licensing, startups and financing, and intellectual property protection. More importantly—and more interestingly—for his clients, Steve is an entrepreneur and was co-founder and president of Front Porch Classics, creator of classic “coffee table games,” such as Dread Pirate, Old Century Baseball, Stretch Run and Master & Commander; he is also the Director of Hero Relations for the non-profit The Sidekick Collective.

Before joining Invicta Law Group in 2005, and Bracepoint Law in 2014, Steve managed the Front Porch's trademark, copyright and licensing portfolio including Sony's Game Show Television Network, Major League Baseball and 20th Century Fox, and guided the company through venture capitalization and negotiating deals for distribution with Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom, and Toys-R-Us.

“Having run a venture-backed business, I’m become a far better counselor,” he says. “I understand the challenges growing businesses face and I’m proactive about how to launch, market and protect creative ideas.”

Steve himself has developed several award-winning board games, has written three screenplays made into feature films, and produced two independent feature films, most recently including Crimes of the Past.

“I’ve walked in my client’s shoes—in the business world, I’ve probably made some of the same mistakes they have,” he says. “I can protect them from similar missteps, so they can achieve the success their ideas and talents deserve.”
