Professional

I hired McKean Evans to assist with a claim on my private disability insurance, and though the outcome is pending, I recommend him because his firm was easy to work with, responsive, accessible, and professional. On my first meeting with him, he demonstrated he was an excellent listener. In the cou...rse of our communication, he alerted me on the statute of limitations on a potential lawsuit that I could have pursued, and I appreciated his concern and comprehensive approach to my situation. His firm worked as a cohesive team and seemed to communicate well internally, and we kept excellent and convenient communication by email throughout. Definitely would recommend him, and if needed, consult with or hire him again. I especially appreciated that he is well respected by another attorney-colleague and was highly recommended to me.

Attorney that settled DI Income policy shut-off

After 3 years of receiving monthly benefits from a DI Income Policy, the company decided to stop paying. Company ignored all the overwhelming doctors, PT, MRI, etc. evidence stating that I was still disabled chronic. I hired the law firm which Mr. Evans was an associate at. Mr. Evans took my case ...and immediately began to try to get the company to resume payments. He reviewed ALL medical records (which there were files upon files of documentation). Mr. Evans was always available to me via phone and emails. After all the correspondence between Mr. Evans and the insurance company, the company decided to do a settlement instead of litigation. Mr. Evans continuously strived for a fair settlement to provide me and my family with the monies for which i was entitled to in the first place. He found so many inconsistencies in their shut-off letter which was 11/2016. To be brief, i purchased this Disability Income policy in 1999 and filed my first claim 13 years later. I was a factory worker for 38 years. My whole body gave out. I had 5 hand surgeries, right and left total shoulder replacements, left full knee replacement, right knee torn meniscus surgery, 2 foot surgeries, 2 MRIs showed degenerative disc lumbar spine diagnosis which there was no surgical solutions except for pain management. All the major surgeries where done within 3 years plus back problems which rendered me disabled under the policy. SSD acknowledged me disabled immediately. The insurance company apparently 'just didn't want to pay anymore'. Mr. Evans could clearly see after all his research (which was a lot) that i was entitled to benefits under the policy. He jumped in and after endless hours and months got the company to settle. From shut-off to July 2017, Mr. Evans within 7 months got this situation resolved!!!!!! Now i am able to provide for myself and family. without fear of losing our home. I am truly grateful that I found Mr. Evans. The thought of what could have happened was very scary.
