Tim divides his practice among intellectual property litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, and technology licensing. Tim has litigated cases in a wide range of areas and technologies – from trademarks to time interval analyzers. To date, Tim has litigated six jury trials and has argued in the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Tim also counsels clients in brand development, trademark prosecution, domain name dispute resolution, and contract negotiation.

Tim has been nominated by his peers to the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers “Rising Star” list every year since 2016. He also served as the Intellectual Property Section Chair of the King County Bar Association for several years, and is a member of the Copyright Society of the USA and the International Trademark Association.

Before becoming a lawyer, Tim built and renovated dozens of residential homes, and ran a live music venue. Tim interned for the Federal Trade Commission and the Honorable Richard L. Young in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Shortly after graduating from the University of Washington School of Law, he concluded his work assisting in the revision of licensing policies at the UW’s technology transfer office (formerly the “C4C”). After the C4C, Tim worked for several notable IP boutiques before starting TBillick Law PLLC.

Won the case!

Tim Billick was a great choice for representation in our trademark case. The advice on approach was spot on and, as a result, we won the case. We were up against a large company that had their own legal department, but that didn't worry Tim at all. We 100% recommend him!

Fantastic!

My husband and I run a business based in Portland, Oregon and worked with Tim to successfully file two trademarks. He was fantastic! Efficient. Informed. Explained exactly what we needed to know, but not more, so the process felt simple and seamless on our end. The trademark sphere can be very confusing, frustrating, and a drain on time, so having a knowledgable and trustworthy lawyer to walk you through the steps is huge. Highly recommend!

Thoughtful, Swift, Knowledgable

My small business creates games for much larger Hollywood and New York firms. Tim was able to review our contracts quickly (sometimes much faster than his promised target time) and understood our field and needs exceptionally well. My business partner had a number of complex questions, which Tim was able to break down and answer clearly for him.

Above my expectations

I did a lot of research before selecting a patent attorney. Tim stood out from the rest based on his experience, positive reviews and excellent communication. Impressed with Tim’s Professionalism

Strong Intellectual Property Attorney

Tim was relentless at helping us through a series of very difficult cases. His demeanour is very approachable from a client perspective but he can be tough when dealing with the other side (which is exactly what you want in an attorney). I particularly appreciated that Tim was very thorough in his work and that he worked hard to present a strong argument. Tim was very good at coordinating with us as the client to make sure that he had the facts straight. He was also good at challenging our thoughts as clients which helped lead to a stronger argument in our favour. Tim understands that there are business needs that don't always align with the legal needs and he was very careful to present those options so that we understood the ramifications of any action that was taken. If I ever had the need for Tim's services again I would certainly jump at the opportunity to use him again.

Excellent lawyer, always willing to go the extra mile.
