Knowledge, experience and kindness

After my catastrophic injury Robert's knowledge, experience and support was invaluable. During such a stressful time it was reassuring to have such a great resource on my side.

Highly recommended!

Bob was my lawyer for a bike-car crash that went to arbitration. Bob is excellent for many reasons including the critical fact that he is extremely knowledgable about bike laws. All of his advice was spot on and I was very happy with the outcome. He is also a great person, easily accessible, is well ...prepared, and has great communication. I highly recommend him and Washington Bike Law without reservation.

Effective lawyer dedicated to helping injured cyclists

Two weeks before I planned to start graduate school, I was broadsided by a truck at an uncontrolled intersection, breaking my femur and fracturing my wrist. I incurred about $80,000 in hospital bills from surgery and time in the emergency room. Worse, the driver’s insurer and the police officer who r...esponded to the collision argued that I was at fault for failing to yield. Although I had a difficult case, Bob agreed to represent me. From the start, it was clear that Bob is truly dedicated to helping injured cyclists given that he took the trouble to meet me at my home while I was still bedridden. Bob made it easy and stress-free to negotiate with insurers and file a lawsuit in King County Superior Court. Because of Bob’s skilled representation, I was able to focus on my recovery and start graduate school on time without being distracted by legal and financial issues. We ultimately settled the lawsuit before trial for over $100,000. Bob is skilled attorney who is not afraid to take on a difficult case. He makes it easy for clients to live their lives without being burdened with the details of a lawsuit. He has a remarkable understanding of how auto and health insurance works. Most of all, Bob is an effective and experienced lawyer who can develop the strongest possible arguments for his client so that they can obtain the compensation that they deserve.

Generous and helpful

After I was hit by a truck on my bicycle I called Robert Anderton to explore my options in making an insurance claim. Although my injuries were not severe enough to require hiring an attorney, he kindly gave me advice about how to proceed in negotiations with the insurance company of the person who h...it me. When I called him back with further concerns, he returned my call late in the day (which must have been the end of a long work day) and helped me further. I was impressed by his generosity in giving me pro bono advice and by his expertise, since he himself is a bike commuter who knows about injuries from personal experience and can be trusted to understand the issues.

Great advise from a great attorney!

After I presented Robert with the details of my bike accident and the proposed settlement from the insurance company, Robert politely declined to take my case. However, he did provide me with case law, background and reference materials to enable me to successfully DOUBLE my property damage claim.... I truly appreciate Robert's sage judgement in getting me to accept the insurance company's offer and I think he went out of his way to help me during our phone consult. While I hope I'm never again in another bicycle accident, I know who I will use, without hesitation, to represent my interests: Robert Anderton!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
