I was over a year in on a high conflict divorce case in a surrounding rural county where legal system cronyism seemed to be taking full advantage of the large amounts of money that the opposing party was willing to throw into the case. Along with being a father, I felt I was seriously disadvantaged f...inancially, politically, and socially in the custody fight I found myself in. Finally recognizing what was happening and needing a very good attorney from out of town to fight for me, I reached out to Twyford Law. I told them of my plight and Mark graciously took on my case. While navigating a very difficult judicial scenario, he proceeded to strategically and surgically right the court record with incredible skill and poise, never once being caught off guard or out witted. The case ended up having to go to trial where Mark absolutely shined. He read and navigated the court room incredibly well and even though we only had approximately half the testimony time of the opposing party, he made the absolute most of it and it was all he needed. I received everything he thought we could get from the beginning. Though it's tough going through something like this, I'm very fortunate to have had Mark on my side. For fear of being dragged into court by Mark (I have already been threatened with this) I will once again leave a fair and honest review. Our opinions differed with one aspect of my previous review, so rather than deal with his threats, I deleted my review. However, any parent fighting for their chi...ld should read this. I will make this short and sweet. I had a very complicated custody case with my 4 year old son at the time. I could not have found a worse person to have in my corner. There was never a game plan, calls went unanswered for days, he did not appear to care at all about my case and I eventually needed to change counsel after I was told I would be lucky to see my son. I changed counsel, which was an incredible risk given how much time we had already waisted on my case and very quickly received close to 50% custody of my son. Today it exceeds 50%. I cannot think of a worse period in my life.

After my husband of 20 years announced he wanted a divorce, I was in shock and confused, my life was about to change. I asked for recommendations for attorneys and spoke with several and felt they were indifferent to my situation. I hired a wonderful attorney who went to bat for me. The opposition dr...agged it out and it became one of the worst cases for harassment, intransigence, and psychological abuse. The opposition resorted to erroneously using a special needs child to favor their case. My attorney brought in Mark to assist her with the GAL who became involved. My attorney only works with 2 other attorneys in Spokane and Mark was one of them. I am so glad she got Mark involved!! Mark is sharp! He got a handle on my case immediately, even though he was behind the 8 ball as it had already been well over a year with a plethora of court filings. I met Mark and had my documents and evidence ready and he got it immediately. I felt relieved that I did not have to rehash everything that had been going on since the dissolution started. His intelligence and knowledge of the law was evident from the start. Mark is honest and upfront with clients even if it is something you do not want to hear. He is not concerned about being popular with the courts or other attorneys for being your advocate. He is highly respected within the court system and in the legal profession. Mark knows his way around the court systems and is a top orator in court and composed, not flinching with the opposition’s tactics or outbursts. He is articulate, quick witted and not afraid of confrontations if it helps him advocate for his clients. He is honest with his clients too on realistic expectations, but he will not back down in negotiations unless it is fair, equitable and has a good outcome for the people he represents. When my trial date was imminent, there was a conflict with my first attorney, so she brought Mark in. Within a weekend he knew the ins and outs of the financial situation and was on top of the 5 binders of information. Once the opposition heard the Judge’s ruling before trail and saw the evidence in the Trial Management Report, he and his paralegal Nickole had put together they wanted to negotiate after 18months doing the opposite. We were prepared to go to trial regardless. Mark would not back down until it was a fair and equitable outcome for me. We avoided the trial and additional trial costs due to his excellent negotiation skills and activism for me. There are only 2 attorneys I would hire to represent me with confidence knowing they had my back, and I was not a number to them but a person who needed a champion and Mark is most definitely one of them.

Mark worked diligently on my husband's custody matter! He knows the law and works very hard in preparation for his cases. The office has a strong team that's willing to step in to make sure the needs of the client are met. They are tactful when it came to the court room and only let out the sharks ...when it's appropriate to do so. We were up against people who wanted to make up lies and crazy allegations but Mark worked twice as hard to put together the evidence to show otherwise. He was always respectful to the commissioners and judges, showing us he has a strong rapport in the courtroom. He is very client centered when it comes to his practice. Having a lawyer for almost any type of case is expensive! It is nice to know the office does their very best to work with their clients regarding payments and such. I would highly recommend Mark Cassell for your matter.
