Very professional, multi faceted lawyer

John is an excellent business lawyer - and an oracle of legal knowledge. I was very impressed by his polished legal pleadings and clever legal arguments during litigation.

MONEY HUNGRY

This was a horrible experience. The only thing he cared about was getting money. He never listened and followed thru with things discussed on the phone or in email, but rather did what he pleased. He ran up a bill rendering my defense useless and then caved to the pressure of the other side. This was... one of the worst nightmares ever. I would have done better to fight this on my own and save my money. All talk and no action.

Overpromise, underdeliver

Mr. Hathaway overpromised and underdelivered. He charged me accessive fees and encouraged me to go forward with litigation eventhough it was not a strong case. If anyone has any similar problem, you're invited to post your story here along with info that may be helpful to me.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
