Unethical/unprofessional attorney

I contacted the J.D. Smith Law firm for representation due to an MVA. Jamila Taylor worked for JD at the time. JD handed my case to Jamila (training purposes I'm sure) as she did not have any experience in personal injury claims. Jamila did not indicate to me she would receive 40% (plus fees) of the ...settlement money as we prepared for trial. Jamila did not provide options other than pursuing trial or mediation because she would not have made as much money! In addition, Jamila Taylor did not make a third party payment as promised and well documented to LNI. There is now a third party lien on my personal property due to her greed and dishonesty. Jamila Taylor is an inexperienced/unethical/unprofessional personal injury attorney who continues to practice law! I recommend one does not contact this attorney.

Good Lawyer That Gets Results!

Jamila displayed vitality, diligence, responsibility, and honesty in helping me to settle my personal injury case. These are the qualities that represent a good lawyer. She kept me abreast on what was going on with my case, and answered all of my questions when I was confused. With her knowledge ...in conjunction with her efforts, I received a very satisfying settlement. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking help in settling their personal injury case.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
