I was born and raised in Whatcom County, Washington, near the US/Canadian border. I am a proud partner in Seattle Consumer Justice, P.S., a firm based in Seattle, but I spend a great deal of time in our Bellingham branch office. We assist consumers and small businesses with bankruptcy, debt settlement, and debt-related consumer rights litigation.
I live in Bellingham, Washington with my wife and daughter. When I'm not assisting clients, I enjoy fishing our local rivers and streams for salmon, trout and steelhead.

Surviving a Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
We met Jacob in 2009 when we were trying to receive all the promised reduced loan help for the major Banks (BOA). We were told by these institutions that the only way to have the banks work with us was to get behind in our payments in other words trash our credit. So after 40 years of perfect credi...

Best Lawyer!
Jacob was very knowledgeable and very nice to work with on my case. He always kept me informed of what was going on and what to expect. My case was not anything easy by far and Jacob and his team worked really hard to win my case for me. I would recommend Jacob to anyone.

"Jacob is an excellent communicator and very knowledgeable about bankruptcy law. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to my clients who need bankruptcy advice."
"I endorse this lawyer. Jacob is one of the most creative and intelligent bankruptcy attorneys in the bar. I have been practicing bankruptcy for ten years and I can honestly say that I learn a new way of looking at debt and bankruptcy issues in every conversation I have with Jacob about a a case. When he approaches a solution for a client, he thinks outside of the box and develops comprehensive solutions that are the client's best interest. I am in awe of what he has done with the Chapter 11 practice he basically created from scratch while maintaining his interest and compassion for consumer clients in Chapter 13 and Chapter 7. I regularly refer cases to him now and ask him for advice to think through difficult issues even though I have been practicing bankruptcy longer than he has."
"I have had the privilege of working directly with Mr. DeGraaff on many complex legal cases, including bankruptcy, debt, contract, family law and general civil matters. His guidance is always concise, accurate and practical. Moreover, Mr. DeGraaff continues to impress me as one of the most ethical attorneys I have come across in our profession. I recommend Mr. DeGraaff wholeheartedly and look forward to working together for many years to come."
"I highly endorse this lawyer's work. Jacob is a straight shooter. He will do his best to work with you and give you the sometimes hard, but honest answers. I continue to hear only the best about his work."
"I strongly endorse this lawyer's work. Jacob DeGraaf is a smart and personable attorney who works hard to produce the best results for his clients."
