My situation was ultimately a case that was pending for several years and Chris kept me well informed and updated anytime anything was moving throughout the whole process. He is super friendly and very profess...ional. Given the particular damages and circumstances in my specific case, Chris was still able to to reduce my sentencing and defend me as best as possible. I can say I’m very pleased with the overall outcome for the severity of the charges, and him sticking by my side for the duration of this lengthy process, regardless of my financial status. I cannot recommend this attorney. He spent my retainer and then, at the readiness hearing, derailed trial by making a motion whose damage will affect the rest of my life because of the public records it created. He substituted his own objective for mine, which is against the rules of conduct for atto...rneys. He asked me in the back of the courtroom if I "did it," and didn't see any reason not to have attorney-client discussions in public places as people walked by. He appears not to have believed my story, and that affected the strategy he was willing to take. He should have told me that he could not believe me so that I could have found another attorney before he exhausted my retainer and then challenged my competency after writing an email saying that if the motion was not granted, we would have grounds for an appeal. After challenging my competency, he three times raised the issue, with me and in court, of substitution of attorney, despite the fact that the judge said it was not appropriate at the time. It appears he never intended to be around for any appeal. In particular, I cannot recommend this attorney, especially if your case involves harassment enabled by technology or if you are a woman. The last motion he made, despite my objections, could lead to my becoming homeless and jobless, simply because of the public record it created. I did not hire him to resolve my case at any cost.

Chris understood the details of the situation, had a good strategy, and has good contacts in the system which helped my case, which turned out better than I'd hoped... case dismissed. Other lawyers that I had talked to tried to make it sound more complicated than it later proved to be. Chris looke...d for the simplest possible solution. I recommend this firm.

I recently contacted and hired Chris Black to represent my father in his initial appearance prior to being transferred.
