Rebecca Kathryn Wiess

I used Rebecca Wiess for help getting out of a sticky real estate situation more than five years ago. I checked her out here on AVVO just now and was rather shocked about the bad reviews. This was not my experience with Ms. Wiess at all. As I remember, she was very responsive, very knowledgeable, and... reasonably priced. I was a happy customer.

My five starts weren't given lightly, and they come from experiences across two decades. Rebecca's sound judgment, legal expertise and extraordinary responsiveness have helped me through several prickly situations. It's hard to imagine higher stakes for most of us than home and hearth. I recommend th...is real estate attorney (slash diplomacy expert) without reservation.

Rebecca was not responsive when I contacted her and that should have been my clue. Once I signed her agreement and sent my retainer check she simply stopped returning my calls and e-mails. I contacted her over 8 times over a 3 month period and she did not reply to any of my requests. I finally had to... make a formal complaint to the WA State Bar Association and only then did she return my file and retainer check. I think she is a very unprofessional attorney and is likely to continue taking advantage of clients, no one should hire her for anything.

Rebecca on occassion returned calls when I first contacted her. She gave decent advice. But then she would just dissappear...not responding to emails, phone calls, etc. When she did finally return a call with a promise to actually do some work as promised nothing was ever delivered. Totally a waste o...f time and wouldn't recommend her. She hasn't delivered on any of her promises. Communication couldn't get any worse. I agree completely with the first reviewer.

She made one single phone call after I paid her. She did not do any follow ups, did not answer my questions, did not resolve the problem, did not tell me any progress, and did not tell me that nothing was done. When I finally talked to the other party (city of Seattle), they told me that all she did ...was making one phone call and was told what she should do. She never told me that. She stopped answering the phone and never returned my calls.
