Excellent Experience

Mark (and his fantastic paralegal) helped me through a divorce that was mostly amicable, yet profoundly terrifying for me in many ways. I hired Mark based upon word-of-mouth recommendations, and, actually, reviews on Avvo.com. Mark's experience and expertise, particularly in terms of having worked wi...th many attorneys and accountants in the Seattle area, proved to be invaluable many times over. While my divorce was generally amicable, it was highly reassuring to have someone like Mark on my side if things had suddenly turned south, as he has extensive experience in both litigation and mediation. I would definitely recommend hiring Mark, especially if you're in the same boat that I was when I hired him -- completely terrified, and unsure of how anything related to the divorce process was supposed to work.

5 stars isn't enough, need 15 or more.

The short: Mark is the attorney you want on your side. PERIOD. The long: The amount that Mark has done for my family can not be put into words. There were times he walked along side me, and there were times he carried me through the journey, but never once was he not honest, true to his word, o...r ethical. With over 9 opposing lawyers I've seen all types and Mark is the one you want on your side. He's extremely well known and respected for very good reasons and that makes a huge difference. Walking down the hallways of the courthouse you feel like you are walking with royalty and it shows not only with other lawyers but the judges and support staff. Everyone respects Mark and respects what he stands for. During one hearing, the commissioner politely explained to the opposing counsel that her remarks against Mark were out of line because Mark is extremely ethical and would never do what she accused him of. Mark's reputation stands on his history and when he stands beside you, it carries an enormous power. When other lawyers walk up after a hearing and shake Mark's hand congratulating him, you know you have the right guy on your side. Mark is a family man, gets what it means to be a dad, a father, a husband, and a person, and stands up to wrong doing. Mark will not steer you wrong, and if you follow his advice and do what you need to do, the end result will be best that can be. Mark was sometimes blunt, always direct, sometimes coaching, sometimes drill sergeant, but ALWAYS the voice of reason. I've seen all kinds of attorneys from the bulldogs to the pistol wielding nut jobs, and I can honestly say that honest, ethical, respected, and hard working wins the race every time. I was in the war for my children's lives and there was no better general out there fighting for them. And now we are together and happy. There isn't anything I could say that would explain more to anyone how much Mark did for my family then when I hear my kids yelling "Daddy, Daddy" and them jumping into my arms. Mark made that happen, pure and simple. Other attorneys would have listen to the lies about me, followed down the normal mom's have custody rails, and been done, but Mark knew it was wrong and fought and fought for my outcome. I’ll say it again; Mark is the attorney you want on your side. PERIOD. You sure don't want to be on the opposite side of him, just ask the countless attorneys that have tried and failed.

Divorce & Custody

Mark handled a fast moving Divorce and later custody case for me. Mark’s knowledge of my case and guidance through the process was impressive. When the ex moved and attempted to bring the children with her, we had to scramble to keep my children in their school district. That was done not only suc...cessfully, but seamlessly. Mark was notable especially in contrast with the attorneys my ex hired – they routinely took outrageous positions and even brought my children into routine financial issues. Mark handled this matter professionally, keeping emotions out of what is essentially an accounting exercise. Marks bills were clear and well within expectations – I myself am an attorney and review bills routinely and have a basis for stating that. Mark’s courtroom skills are impressive - he is well versed in procedure, law and the facts of my particular case. Having been in courtrooms before, I was impressed with Mark. I highly recommend Mark. ...I should have hired him to do a prenup!

Professional, collaborative and strong

I selected Mark Olson as I thought my divorce was likely to become a difficult and adversarial, but I was very much interested in a collaborative and fair divorce. Mark had the experience to help me accomplish fair outcome in the various motions we had to defend/file as well as the professionalism, e...xperience and patience to accomplish a fair and honorable negotiated dissolution. I could not recommend him more highly.

Didn't bother to respond to me

I contacted Mark Olson's office twice because without getting into detail I was married in Washington but left for Australia and so as you can imagine calling isn't cheap and the time difference is a factor. So, I tried twice to get a hold of someone and they never bothered to get back to me. With so... much technology available there aren't many excuses left to use as to why this happened. I'm sure they're good lawyers but customer service is lacking. Not all clients will be living in the U.S. People do marry foreign nationals on U.S. and then leave for personal reasons. Just a reminder.
