I was arrested in November of 2005 on a conspiracy charge. Attorney Jeff Smith was appointed to represent me. The government had a very good case. I also had a very bad prior record. I received only a two year sentence due to Mr. Smith’s good work. I was originally looking at a ten year mandatory minimum sentence.
Mr. Smith did not let his work end there. After I was released from prison I tried to get transferred to Arkansas they would not accept me because of my prior record. This was very hard on me because my mother was there in very poor heath. I also got very sick in this time period. Mr Smith and I went back before the judge and requested I be released from probation. The Judge did not grant our request. He said to come back in nine months. After the hearing Mr. Smith got them to agree to look at it again in four months. After four months, he got me released without even having to go to court. Mr Smith went far above what was required work for me. He does not think of his client’s as just a number, he thinks of them as a person who needs his very best help.
Honest man of integrity who is down to earth and knows what he's doing!
Jeff Smith was recommended to me by a friend. He was honest and realistic with me from the first meeting. I never felt like he misrepresented himself or gave me unrealistic expectations about my case. Jeff was always early to my hearings and conducted himself in a professional manner. His knowledge of the legal system and rapport with those in key positions were invaluable assets in my case. Jeff is personable and down to earth...not all puffed up and full of himself like other lawyers I have encountered. I feel confident in the fact that I was well represented and my case was resolved in the best possible scenario. I highly recommend Jeff Smith.
DUI cases are a large part of my practice, but it doesn't end there. Vehicular Assaults and Homicide are felony versions of DUI in which a person is injured or killed. I have worked on many of these cases, and have had extraordinary success. I was also involved in Supreme Court case briefing.
I have represented people charged with every type of Domestic Violence, from misdemeanor assaults to First Degree Murder. I obtained a Not Guilty By Reason of Insanity Verdict in one DV case.
Murder, Domestic Violence, Vehicular Assault and Homicide, Robbery, Rape, Assaults, Complex Thefts, or any other criminal charge in State Superior or Misdemeanor Courts.
Former Prosecutor turned Criminal Defense attorney Jeffrey H. Smith is committed to securing the best possible results for his clients. Jeff Smith has represented hundreds of clients, and is highly skilled – both as negotiator and as trial lawyer – in addressing allegations of serious crimes.

"I endorse this lawyer. I have known Jeff for over two decades: first when we were both deputy prosecutors for King County, and then when Jeff went into private practice in criminal defense. When I was a prosecutor, I knew Jeff to be a knowledgeable, determined and effective advocate for his defense clients. Since I have been in private practice for the past four years, I have referred multiple clients to Jeff for criminal defense, and they have all been very satisfied with his representation. I would not hesitate to recommend Jeff as a skilled criminal defense lawyer."

"I have known Jeff for 16 years, first as a coworker in the office of the King County Prosecuting Attorney and now, for the last 15+ years, as a criminal defense attorney. As opposing counsel in criminal cases and trials, I found Jeff to be thorough, professional, and an excellent and effective advocate for his clients. I no longer practice in the criminal arena but have always referred people dealing with criminal matters to Jeff; I have been incredibly grateful for his outstanding work and impressed with his results. His experience, background, and skills make him the first attorney I recommend to anyone facing a criminal investigation or charge."
