Misconduct Complaint

If I could give a 0 star I would. I hired Mr.Moen to help me in the probate for my grandmothers estate. Mr. Moen persuaded me to transfer $500,000 into his trust account. I have not received a dollar of the funds it’s been 4 months. He found a loop hole to take clients money. He files motions that ar...e not required by law, then will charge you for it. He has charged over $20,000 for a simple probate case. He stoped answering my calls and emails, when the heirs came to his office to get answers he called the police on them. He has discriminated against my family and took advantage. I will be filing a grievance with WSBA.

This is from a disgruntled former client whose frustration stems from the procedures of the probate court to protect the probate funds. Everything seemed to start well enough, but the former client became unhappy regarding the protection of estate assets. When I was instructed by my former client to circumvent a court order, I declined and was fired. Lawyers are bound by ethical obligations both to their clients and to the courts. Circumventing a court order is a "no-go" zone for any lawyer. This negative review is a "revenge posting" that should be ignored. I have attained the highest possible ratings for over 30 years. I stand by my conduct with this former client.

Too Expensive for results obtained

Hired him. $600 per hour with no office. Legal assistant committed suicide in 2022. Thinks client is ignorant.

This posting is not authentic. First, no one hired me at $600 because that is not my rate. Second, I’ve been officing continuously for over 40 years in major buildings located in the core of the downtown Seattle business district. I do not know who posted this "review." I ask anyone reading it to disregard the review because the inaccurate information suggests that the person posting was not really my client. Much of my work consists of court appointments to replace an executor in contested probate estates or trusts. At times, there will be family members happy or unhappy with my services depending upon the resolution of the issues. The unhappy persons may lay the blame on me personally rather than on the court system. For more information about the depth of experience, please read the bio on my website and the appellate cases listed and described. -Bruce Moen

Highest recommendation for Bruce R. Moen

Bruce Moen has advised on and settled estates for my family beginning in 1986. The first estate was especially complicated and Mr. Moen provided excellent advice and counsel for our family. Since then he has drawn up wills for my late husband, my mother, my partner and for me. We know we can alway...s depend on Bruce's good advice.

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"Bruce and I have worked together on several estate litigation matters. He is commonly appointed by the court as professional fiduciary in difficult-to-manage estate and trust matters. He has an uncommon level of experience and expertise in this area of law, on top of being a first-rate gentleman."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
