Suellen Howard

If you are reading this review, then it is my hope that you consider it closely for an accurate review of Ms. Howard's legal services. I hired Ms. Howard more than 15 years ago to be my attorney for a divorce case with child support. I did not hire somebody to listen to me whine about my case, but in...stead one that would handle my case ethically and professionally, and not promise me a thing but rather just do her part so the outcomes could be the best that could be expected. I retained her because she did the job and the other party in the case did not make things easy at all. I read comments in reviews here that she was rude. I believe people are mistaking candid and 'get the job done' approach as being rude, but instead she is saving her client money and time by just getting to business. I learned over the years that her services were as good as the assistance I provided in my attention to detail in the documents and items she needed to do her job. I did my best to give her what she asked and do it as quickly as I was able to provide it. If I was not wearing my "big boy pants" at anytime, she was quick to get me back on task so that I was able to do my part in it all. I was certain that my children would have the best support and payments were emphasized in court as needing to go to the care of the children, period. When the other party was not complying with court orders, Ms. Howard got things back on track for holding the other party accountable. My case went before the court many times for adjustments over the years as the children grew up and out. Ms. Howard was solid each and every time. If you want an attorney that will 'tell you like it is' and not let you 'slip into a poor me pit of misery,' contact Ms. Howard. Then, do your part in getting her what she needs and do it with more attention and speed than you expect from her. She has other clients, you have perhaps only one attorney. Give her a call. Here 15 years later, I am sure glad I did.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Incompetent, and won't stand up for you. Thank goodness I fired her and sought other counsel who told me something I did not know. You can offer an attorney to pay only a fraction of what you owe, to settle the bill. When I fired Sue Ellen, I owed her $2200. I wro...te her a scathing letter and offered $700 to settle the bill. She wrote back a very rude, condescending, unprofessional letter, filled with spelling and grammatical errors in which she accepted my offer of payment. Her message in essence was "Fine, I'll take you money, and good riddance to you". Wow, really Sue Ellen? I'm very skeptical of positive reviews on here. I find it hard to believe Sue Ellen has the ability to offer exceptional, expedient service. I'm led to ponder that perhaps these positive reviews are not authentic.

Horribly incompetent. Late to mediation and court, did not stand up for me at mediation, just sat there and let me get rolled over. Tons of spelling and grammar errors on her written communication, especially embarrassing since my now ex has a degree in English. My ex constantly made fun of me f...or having such a terrible attorney. She will promise you that she's a pitbull who will fight to the end for you. No pitbull here, just a lazy, worthless slug.

Suellen was able to do in just a few weeks what my last attorney was not able to accomplish in almost 2 years. My last attorney in Auburn charged me over 14k, mostly for making copies, reading emails, and trying to prolong my case. I met with Suellen, paid a very low retainer, and she has already sen...t the settlement over in my divorce case. She keeps me informed and answers my emails almost immediately. i feel very lucky to have found her.

Suellen Howard does not have the best interest of her clients at heart. What she tells you initially, changes. She is not on the same team as her client, she is the only one on HER team. Never returns calls. Office extremely unorganized, and she will get irritated of you want to know what's happen...ing with YOUR case. Do NOT expect anything done in a timely manner. DO expect to be spoken down to. Will challenge her client as though you are the one the case is against if you have questions for her. You appear to be a bother to her. Would never refer anyone to her. Total lack of customer service, and she doesn't care. Gets your business then treats you altogether differently. Have worked with other attorneys, and have never encountered this. Had I not invested $$ in her, would have walked before my case was over. Gives lawyers an even worse reputation.
