Michael chin was referred to us by a friend. Because of unexpected health issues that came up we needed to find help for trial in our case for our parenting plan, the stress of our case was taking a toll on the family and my wife's heart. But with only a week before trial we were worried no one would... have time to get on board. For over a year I was going through a rough custody battle that included child support being addressed as well. I was having such a horrible time before retaining Michael Chin. It seemed as though the courts were against me. It believed everything the other party said, without evidence to his claims ...etc. Court date after court date, accusations, and the calling out from work became all too much (you all know how it goes *sign*). I just about gave up and almost settled for a 50/50 schedule (even though that would not in the best interest of the child) and then my mother came across Michael Chin on the internet. I also liked the fact that if Michael was in court with another client I could easily get in touch with Elyse, his paralegal (shout out to Elyse, she's awesome! Very professional, punctual and nice). Everything was always very organized and done in a timely manner. At trial I was extremely nervous, but Michael did all the talking and assured me that he would present everything needed to be known for determining what would be the best interest of my child. He knows the rules of a court room extremely well and I felt like I was in great hands during the trial process. He took a very respectful approach but also would stand up and be assertive when needed. This was very effective because not only did I get all that I envisioned for my child... but more! I was so discouraged before I sought Michael's representation but now my life is looking more positive and less stressful. My child is also happier with a set schedule and more stability to rely on with a fair parenting plan. I will definitely keep in contact with Michael and would retain him again, without a doubt, if I ever needed to again. I would recommend him to any one that's at any stage in the process of a custody battle, either the beginning, the middle, or towards the end at trial or even for modifications. My Relocation case has been successfully closed! I filled my Relocation case in good faith in 60 days before I planned to move with my 12-year-old son to Chicago. I filled all necessary documents with the court including a motion to allow Temporary Relocation with Children before the trial. It happ...ened that court denied my motion and put me to a position without any good options but violate the order and move without court permission. Michael consulted me and we discussed all possible options, outcomes, and consequences. I made a decision to move with my child because I didn't have any other option. I couldn't stay in WA and I couldn't move without my child either. Michael started to prepare all documents for the trial. Luckily Michael was able to settle with the other party through mediation about my relocation and was able to keep me out of contempt! In this case, Michael Chin did everything to turn around my situation to my favor: I am now permitted to relocate with the child, I am able to keep my custody, and I am not in contempt. Last but not list important I didn't have to be involved in this process emotionally, Michael did what needs to be done in a professional manner representing my interests and protecting my rights. Also, he charged me fairly for his work, he always was in touch and available for me if I needed an advice. If it was possible to even give more then 5 stars I would!!!! From the very start, searched for a family law lawyer in the Snohomish county area, googled Michael and made the call. Knowing that this case was going to be rough my husband and I set up the FREE consultation. From the start we knew, that... Michael knew what he was talking about, from the way he listened and was able to explain how the law applied to our case. This was a back and fourth case for my husband, and definitely a headache of a case. Michael handled our case with extreme care, truthfully as if it was his own. I would spend every dime 10x over for Michael without a blink. We had a high litigation mediation, where Michael was able to get a 60/40 split parenting time!!! Which is more then we even expected.
