Mr. Kontos needs to retire. The biggest red flag in our consultation was that it was "too good to be true". On a cold call he spoke to me on the phone for more than 6.5 hours, telling me that he would represent me and going through my entire case file with me and the history of my entire conflict.... He assured me that the next day we would sign a contract, pay the retainer and begin work. I woke up to find a rejection email from him on the basis that even though he believed me, and money wasn't an issue, he has "too much secondary trauma" watching clients get chewed up by a corrupt system and he didn't want to watch it happen to me. Imagine a paramedic arriving at a car accident and saying "I am tired of watching people bleed out." And then getting in the ambulance and driving away. If David truly has this level of secondary trauma then he needs to retire. If he lied about his reasons for declining, he needs to retire. If he is in the habit of taking up 6.5 hours of prospective client hope and time just because he likes talking on the phone and making false promises, he needs to retire. Maybe he was a capable or even amazing litigator once. He is now apparently a cynical pessimist, disinterested in doing hard work, and declaring up front that he expects to lose complex litigations.

RUN! Do not ever hire this attorney. He signs away your rights. He is ok with domestic violence, I had all the evidence in the world and he NEVER submitted it. Now I lost custody of my son do to his ignorance, high priced fees. This attorney quadruple charged me for one court hearing, he charged me f...or sitting down and chatting with my ex & his attorney. He never looked at anything I sent him. My ex had supervised visitation due to substance abuse and domestic violence. My ex injured my son & now he has custody of my son! DO NOT HIRE THIS INCOMPETENT ATTORNEY. RUN!!

I would never recommend this attorney to anyone, He handled my family law case and just really dropped the ball, and then him and John Curry, tricked me into settling on my case so they could come after me for all the charges. Then when when I'd had enough and fired him, he gave me 30 days to pay t...he balance on my account, that I'd always paid. Then sent it into collections and is now charging outrageous interest on. Him and John Curry are nothing but legal scam artists. It was bad enough I had a situation pop up that I had no control over but they took full advantage of the situation.

I hired Mr. Knotos to represent me in a child custody case. Mr. Kontos did a horrible job of keeping me informed with ongoing communications from the opposing counsel. He signed away rights and made decisions without consulting with me first. Mr. Kontos failed to show at court appearances and then l...ied to my face about the court dates. I would not recomend this man a counsel for anyone. He should have his license revoked permanetly .
