also known as Drue Kirby Coats
Drue has been practicing law for over 20 years, and has been a pro tem Judge for over 15 of those years. Her practice has concentrated on criminal law, elder law and personal injury. She has represented persons charged with major felony crimes to misdemeanors.
She spent many years as a prosecutor and public defender before going into private practice in 1999. She was an associate at several premiere DUI defense /criminal defense firms before leaving to create Kirby Coats. She has an active practice representing persons charged with domestic violence as well as representing victims who seek anti-harassment and/or protection orders.
Drue has experience in personal injury law after spending several years as Staff counsel for the largest publicly held insurance company in the country.
She particularly enjoys elder law. As we all know, we’ll all be there one day. Helping our older neighbors with difficult decisions and making sure they understand their options along with sound planning is particularly rewarding.
For every client, and every issue, Drue takes pride in her attention to detail and ability to listen to clients and to understand their objectives. She will make sure you understand your options, clearly know your rights and risks with every decision you make. She will answer your questions, provide you with professional advice, and give you ample time to make a decision or determine a plan of action that best fits your situation.
Clients feel comfortable with Drue as their counsel. Past clients have repeatedly stated they felt relieved after hiring Drue. “She is confident, knows what she is doing and doesn’t waste time. She consistently provides superior legal services. I would highly recommend her to my closest family and friends.” Ben R., former client

Poor Lawyer
Drue handled my case in a timely manner and was very affordable, but had poor communication throughout the whole process. I did not know what to expect, and she tried to handle matters that were not part of my case and were out of her field, almost costing me my case.
