Marijean Elizabeth Moschetto

I hired Marijean as my divorce atty. Big mistake. I never felt good about her representation; I always felt that she lacked urgency when it came to moving my case forward, that she wasn't taking my case seriously. For example, she was quite lax in communicating with me about key milestones. Basica...lly, she would go dark on me, so I would repeatedly have to call her for updates on my case - vs. her proactively calling me. It was also clear that the opposing attorney was consistently out-gunning us on key issues - we always seemed to be reacting vs. acting. Whatever strategy she had for my case, it was ineffective. Considering the emotional trauma a person experiences in divorce, these examples of unprofessional conduct were inexcusable. I was counting on her, and she let me down in these ways, and the way it counts most: I got a quantifiably 'less than equitable' settlement, which says something in Washington State, which aims for such settlements. So, would I use her again? Never. Would I recommend her to others? Based on my experience, I'd tell others to look hard for someone else who is more engaged, and more knowledgeable of the law. Her lack of engagement and knowledge hurt me considerably.

Ms. Moschetto was kind enough to review my case thoroughly and spent a significant amount of time reviewing my options, potential costs, and likelihood of outcome. She was very well-informed about the applicable laws, court proceedings, and motions. She was a true professional and quite considerate... in investing the amount of time she did with me in assessing my case. Although I was unable to afford to retain her, I would have been honored to be represented by her.
