Larry B. Feinstein

I was originally admitted to practice in New York in 1973, and worked as a staff attorney at the Federal Trade Commission.  I am and have been a partner in the Seattle law firm of Vortman & Feinstein since 1990.  Prior to that, I was a partner at Steiner & Feinstein, until Samuel Steiner was appointed a federal Bankruptcy Judge. I practice exclusively in all phases of Chapter 7, 11, and 13 Bankruptcy since 1975.

I am a Board Certified Business Bankruptcy Specialist and a Board Certified Consumer Bankruptcy Specialist by the American Board of Certification and have been since 1992.

I was a Chapter 7 Court Trustee for the Western District of Washington for 12 years, and have represented both creditors and debtors in all phases of bankruptcy proceedings. I am a frequent speaker on bankruptcy for the American Bar Association, and I have Chaired and spoke at CLE’s and seminars at the ABA Meetings for 18 years. 

I currently serve as Chair of the Business Law and Bankruptcy Committee of the GP|Solo Division of the American Bar Association. I have been the Chair or Co-Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee since 2001, for 15 years.  In this position I was active in the ABA's lobbying efforts on the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act (BAPCA) and related bankruptcy legislation.
