Erika Danielle Shinpaugh

Erika focuses her practice on commercial, residential, and mixed-use real estate, and handles transaction and litigation matters for a broad spectrum of clients. Her transactional work involves, among other things, representing clients in drafting commercial leases, easement agreements, CC&Rs, deeds of trust, and promissory notes, as well as negotiating contracts. As a licensed instructor in advanced real estate law, Erika also counsels real estate brokers on brokers’ duties and best practices.

Erika’s litigation work involves representing owners, buyers, sellers, lessors, brokers, lenders, developers, and manufacturers in disputes involving contracts, construction, title, fraud and misrepresentation, breach of statutory duties, commission, products liability, unfair competition, deceptive acts, and employment issues.

Prior to joining Peterson Russell Kelly PLLC, Erika clerked for the Honorable Candy W. Dale, Chief Magistrate Judge for the Federal District of Idaho. She also worked as an associate attorney at a boutique real estate law firm in Seattle, where she represented some of the largest real estate brokers in Washington. During law school, Erika interned at the Boise City Attorney’s Office as a criminal prosecutor. Prior to law school, Erika was a paralegal for several years, and taught business English classes to professionals in Spain and Germany.

Erika is deeply committed to pro bono legal work and volunteering in the community, and is consistently recognized by the Washington State Bar Association for her dedicated service. In her free time, Erika enjoys traveling internationally, exploring Washington’s great outdoors, and long-distance cycling.
