I have been an attorney for over 30 years, concentrating my practice almost exclusively on all aspects of family law and minor guardianships. A graduate of the University of Washington and Seattle University School of Law, my roots in this area are deep and long standing.

Away from court and my law practice, I love spending time with my family and close knit circle of friends. I lead a very active lifestyle and certainly enjoy sports of all kinds. Recently retiring from coaching competitive girls fastpitch for 11 years taking teams all over the country to play in national tournaments including the Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Along those lines, I am an avid sports fan, and try to catch as many games as I can for the Seahawks, Huskies and Mariners.

I am committed to helping others and in 2011 was recognized with a Community Service Award for providing pro bono legal help to the less fortunate in Pierce County. Whatever the endeavor, whether it be personal or professional, I try to bring my passionate enthusiasm to any situation.

Highly Recommend

I have made an consultation appointment with Raj in January of 2019 and have hired him right then and there for my Parenting Plan Modification case. Raj is very knowledgeable, professional, kept me informed all the way through the case. He gave me peace of mind throughout the entire process. I kne...w what was going on and what the next steps will be. In court, Raj was respectful but strict, making his point quickly with the details without playing games. I could tell he is well known and very respected. He stayed on top with all of the deadlines. My case was resolved quickly due to the other party not responding and not showing up to hearings. After my case was over, I have contacted Raj with a couple of other questions which he has responded very quickly with all of the information needed. If I ever need an attorney again, Raj will be the first one I will call. I have been recommending Raj to all people asking for excellent family attorney.

My recommendation for Raj Bains

I write this testimonial in reference to the excellent representation I have received with Raj Bains and the entire staff at Bains Law Firm. It was with extreme sadness that I recently found myself forced to seek counsel to protect my daughter. I cannot imagine, outside of losing a child, anything... more difficult to have to undertake. In my desperation I reached out to Raj and his staff. My case has been an extremely emotional one for me and my family. Raj was aware of this. He was the calm amidst a devastating storm. Exceptional

Over the course of the last year my children and I have been through extreme duress and undergone a very challenging, uphill legal battle. In facing this nightmare, I don’t think I could have found a better ally than Raj Bains and his team. They were there for me every step of the way with confiden...ce and kindness. Our case was complicated, dire, and extremely painful for me. I learned quickly how organized, experienced, connected and bullish Raj and his team were in fighting for the well-being of my children. We were faced with an unexpected and unnecessary relocation that would tear my young children away from everything they knew and loved. The vitriol, alienation, and attempts to destroy me in any way possible were extreme. There were countless filings and hearings culminating in a trial in which we prevailed, despite being statistically unlikely. Post-trial the challenges and negativity have continued, yet with Raj at my side I am able to advocate for my children and my rights as a father with ongoing success. Through an experience I would never wish on anyone, where so much in life is detriment and loss I have found an ally who wins. 100% Satisfied

I was divorced in Washington State in 2000. I paid child support as required and always on time. My work took me to North Carolina. My ex wife could not deal with our daughter so I agreed to have her move to North Carolina or live with me and attend high school. My ex did not feel she should pay me... her percentage of the child support. I disagreed and reached out to Raj. He took charge and even though the distance and different states made it challenging, he was able to get the court to agree with us and require my ex to pay me back support and continuing support. Totally professional. Totally knowledgeable. Totally effective and a pleasure to deal with even though we never met face to face. His fee was fair and I would highly recommend him for any divorce matter especially if you are the dad.
