Poor Communication and Ethics

I try to avoid writing negative reviews, but our experience with Megan and her firm was, frankly, shocking — and others should be warned. Nearly 4 months (16 weeks) after signing an agreement to update our existing wills, trust, medical, and other documents (they estimated it would take 10-12 weeks),... we still had nothing except a single legal answer to one of our questions… no request to see our current docs, no attempt to find out what we wanted revised, no response to our multiple requests for an update or ETA (other than “you’re next in line"), and no apologies. After 6 weeks of hearing nothing, we proactively uploaded our current docs to their messaging system, thinking maybe it would jumpstart something. But after 16 weeks and still nothing, we realized that if they treated us this way now, what if we needed something more urgent in the future? So since we had nothing yet to show for all this time and energy, and this is not the kind of relationship we were looking for, we messaged and suggested that we part ways. Within the day of hearing this, they claimed they were “nearly done” (how, without our input?) and FINALLY produced something: a bill for $1700. The “nearly done” docs consisted of a few minutes of transferring data from our existing docs to their forms, which we could have done for free using forms on the Internet (minus all the errors and typos they made). Such poor communication, lack of respect and responsiveness, and bad business ethics. Do you really want to chance such an experience with your important legal work?

Knowledgeable and Compassionate

My case didn't involve a lot of money. I simply needed legal advice, in a hurry, regarding my rights and the rights of a dementia patient. She was very generous with her time, and gave me solid legal and common sense advice. Megan is very couteous, very friendly and very down to earth. Her advice se...rved me well, and if I do wind up having to retain a lawyer, she'll be the one.

Wrongful information

Took wrongful information and didn’t fact check anything that was provided. I am disappointed to see someone who is licensed who doesn’t fact check anything with her clients. I’m embarrassed and ashamed.

Broken Promises

My sister and I hired Megan Salsbury, with Willamette NW Law Firm, with hope she could resolve our estate issue. Megan made a lot of promises and didn't follow through with anything. After making a payment on the bill, we received no resolutions, no follow up email, and ZERO results. Do yourself a... favor and hire a firm that has adequate staffing and attorneys that have experience and won't waste your time or money.

Thank you Megan from the Justin Family

Megan did a great job. My father has a sizable trust and I am the sole beneficiary. To this point, several family members were involved. Megan articulated my position so that the courts understood my situation based on the will provided. Her follow up is superior and we as a family are truly thankfu...l for her council. Megan is a must have in your portfolio.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
