Reported to the BAR

I asked Shannon Douglas if she was familiar working with people that have disability and trouble with communication skill, she said she did. I had an apt with Shannon and when I arrived, she asked me to do an evaluation, at that time in the office, the eval took 3 hours. It was not scheduled or ment...ioned to me in advance. I was not ready or prepared for a long appointment and had not eaten. The eval did not go well and I had to leave in the middle of it and agreed to finish it at another time. I later asked when I can schedule it, and was told I did not have to. Shannon put in her notice in early November to leave the public defenders office. She took my file with her, did not leave forwarding contact information. I searched, she finally contacted the BAR on 1/3/201, I got her information from the the Bar, called her 1/6/2021 to ask her about her behavior and how it put me at risk, I asked her to resign and I would not report her. She lied, abandoned her client, gave all my belongings (keys, money, computer, hard drive, and evidence to the person I have an active court case against, therefore compromising the case. Shannon reported to the courts that I was not cooperating, and that got me arrested, and then put in the OSH for evaluation and while I was in there, I was attacked and beaten 2 times, my house was robbed, my spouse was attacked. I have never in my life encountered such a poor excuse and follow through with someone that is my representation. I then got an attorney that knows how to take care of me. My case is a no brainer. Shannon cost me not only time, reputation, loss of belonging, risk mine and my husbands safety. Do not work with this train wreck of irresponsible ethics.

The worst

She treated my son like a number. Scared him into taking a plea or he do prison time. When all the facts showed he was innocent. Never had time for him over booked with clients. He had court in other county which should of been notified. She neglected this and now has failure to appear and worse char...ges.

Has no clue what she is doing

This particular lawyer has no idea what she is doing. She was careless, did not communicate with me during my case stated she had too many cases and was overloaded. No one could ever get a hold of her no matter how many times we have left messages. Waived my right for a speedy trial but asked if I wa...nted to do so aren’t lawyers supposed to know what is best for their client. She prolonged my case longer than it should have gone because of this. Had to hire a professional lawyer because she simply did not care for her client. Just awful experience. When someone’s life is in your hands you think you would tend to them in a professional timely manner. I Do not recommend at all.

Public Pretender

this particular lawyer was a public pretender. her main objective was to get my case passed through as quickly as possible be she clearly stated that she had a heavy case load that she was barely able to maintain. Poor practice habits, communication skills sucked, and lack of proper time management. ...I would not recommend her services to any out there looking for proper professional help. You are only just a case file to this particular lawyer and law practice. Very unprofessional!
