This means the lawyer did something wrong but the bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
Rodolfo's comment:“Client came to me and stated he was given garnishment by his merchant bank. He stated that he was never served with a law suit. I immediately prepared a motion to set aside judgment. I called the adversary and informed her of my action and she hung up. I took motion ex parte to judge with affidavits from employees of client. I told my Associate to take a copy of ALL related documents to Adversary. Unfortunately only the motion to set aside was delivered and nothing else was given to her.”

Suspension partially stayed means the attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. When the attorney returns to practice he or she will be on probation, meaning the State monitors the attorney's activities for a period of time in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.
