Laurel is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School which she chose for the excellent education it provides. It was during law school that Laurel discovered her interest in family law. Laurel worked as a research assistant for a law professor, doing research on family law issues as well as issues in the area of reproductive rights. She worked as an intern for a family law judge, experiencing every aspect of a family law case from the perspective of a judge.
Laurel has lived in a number of states, including New York, Minnesota, Montana, and Oregon. After attending Portland State University, she finished her final year of undergraduate study at the University of Minnesota, Duluth before moving to Minneapolis to attend law school. After law school, Laurel couldn’t refuse the chance to return to Portland and start her career in the very vibrant Portland legal community.
In her free time, Laurel enjoys painting, traveling and yoga. Laurel loves to volunteer and has recently joined the Lawyers for Kids program as a volunteer attorney.
