Professional help through a difficult process

I can't say enough about Jim. He was professional, helpful and prompt. Divorce is never easy, but Jim was easy to work with, unbiased and made things as uncomplicated as possible. There is no guesswork with Jim and he is open to being only as involved as you might need or completely hands on if nee...ded. He keeps a good, positive attitude and reminds you that this can be a constructive process. Thank you again Jim .

No non-sense approach, gives it to you straight.

Jim has a calm level headed approach that fit well with my personality. He answered questions in a complete way, but was not offended by my saying, okay, I get that part, let's move on so as not to waste time or money. I felt that he kept my best interests as his top priority. I feel that his expe...rience and guidance helped me through the most difficult time of my life. He doesn't have a staff or other overhead that you end up paying for. If a collaborative approach is appealing to you, Jim is a great choice. There are a very limited number of qualified collaboratively trained attorneys in the Portland area.

Hard working, easy to work with.

Jim has helped me through a difficult period of my life and compared with other lawyers I worked with I found him direct and no nonsense. I whole heartedly recommend Jim.

Jim O'Connor Mediation divorce Attorney

My experience with Jim O'Connor was a Godsend. At the most difficult time of my life, Jim guided us through a mediation divorce. He is empathetic, knowledgeable and an expert at what he does. Jim takes a personal interest in the thoughts and feelings of both partners. We were guided through the ...legal process with complete explanations every step of the way. He is honest, reliable and has incredible integrity, a man of his word. Always approachable and gave us the guidelines of communication. We were able to settle amicably and to be kind to each other. I can not say enough how much he helped us emotionally. Also, financially he gave us good advice and the cost were kept down. He truly cares about the lives of his clients.

Encouraging and Patient

James was very patient with us, and allowed us the time we needed to be sure that divorce was indeed what we truly wanted to do. When we had questions, he replied quickly and more importantly, without pressure or condescension. He was very level headed and made us feel comfortable right from the st...art, talking us through each step in the process, letting us know what to expect from the courthouse and when.
