John is a native to Oregon, having been born and raised in Corvallis. After graduating cum laude with a BS in Political Science from Oregon State University in 2007, he then attended, and graduated from Wisconsin’s Marquette University Law School in 2010 where he found his calling; helping people by providing representation and acute insight into matters regarding dissolution of marriage and child custody matters. He decided to relocate back to his home-state and begin his legal career as a family law attorney. John began his journey into family law as a Volunteer Attorney at the non-profit family law-orientated organization, St. Andrew Legal Clinic, and as an Associate Attorney at Pancic law where he quickly gained a dearth of knowledge pertaining to divorce and custody disputes.
John truly enjoys being a family law practitioner because he gets the opportunity to help clients through, what can be, the most difficult and emotional time of their lives. John maintains compassion and patience with clients and practices straightforwardness in an effort to achieve the client’s goals, while keeping them educated about the more nuanced areas of the law. Though John enjoys solving problems and negotiating outside the courtroom, he’s also comfortable in the courtroom setting. John has successfully litigated cases involving divorce, property divisions, spousal support, child support, parenting time, post-divorce modifications, protective orders and enforcement of judgments. These experiences have allowed him to understand and explain any cost-benefit analysis associated with varying legal decision to clients. John strives to represent each client with empathy and commitment, and it is his ability to communicate with others that has proved successful in reaching the best possible outcome for his clients.
John is licensed to practice law in both Oregon and Wisconsin and worked as a Judicial Clerk for the Multnomah County Circuit Court for over five years where he got the opportunity to work with, and learn from, most of the Circuit Court Judge’s in Multnomah County. When not working, John enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, exploring many of Oregon’s hiking trails, biking, running and using any excuse to spend time with animals.
