Matthew G McHenry

From the very beginning Mr. McHenry showed compassion for me and provided me extremely helpful advice, both legal and personal. He guided me through the legal process and talked to me like a person in need of help and not just another client. He listened to my concerns and addressed them. I listened ...to and followed his advice and I got a very good outcome for my case because of it. I highly recommend Mr. McHenry.

Matt was my lawyer for both a criminal and civil case. I chose him for my criminal case partly because, after talking to several lawyers, Matt was the only one who thought there was even a small chance of getting my case dismissed before trial, although he said it was, indeed, a small chance.... He did, however, succeed in getting it dismissed, and so, although he had a higher hourly rate than the other attorney I was considering who also seemed very good, (his hourly rate was lower than some others) in the end I ended up saving money, and more importantly a lot of stress, by choosing him, since my case didn’t go to trial. In both my civil and criminal cases, he always kept me informed, checked in with me on how to proceed, and seemed to take into account not only what was best to do legally, but also how each option would affect me personally. He seemed very smart and capable as he explained different options and approaches to me, and, although I never saw him in trial, I was always confident that he would do a good job, largely because the lawyer who referred me to him said that he was a particularly strong trial lawyer. After working with Matt for a year and half, I think the reason I felt the best about having had him as my lawyer, was that he always clearly seemed to be guided by a sense of integrity, and because of this he seemed to genuinely care about providing me with the best legal representation possible, as well as genuinely caring about addressing the injustice of my case.

While it was unfortunate that I needed to retain the services of Mr. McHenry, I was very fortunate to do so. I found him to be very open, listened well to my concerns and opinions, offered me alternatives, and kept me well informed on the process and progress of my case. I appreciated that he was p...rompt in responding to my questions -- that he always laid out my options and what the pro's/con's of each would be and gave me the opportunity to make a good decision for me! I also found him to be very personable. While I know I "hired him" to do work for me -- I never felt like just another client -- but rather that he was putting in his best effort to make sure I received the best representation possible.

For me to not write this honest review about my experiences with Mr. McHenry would be a crime in itself, that no lawyer could defend...I would be robbing Oregon of top quality legal representation...something significantly lacking in this state. I have been a client of Mr. McHenry for some time now.... I sought out his representation at the Law Office of Michael Levine after careful consideration of the circumstances and after meeting with him..anyone should do this before hiring any attorney. He put me at ease even in the most difficult situations. He has always been honest, sincere, compassionate, and most of all very knowledgeable in the law. I have seen him in a court room...he is a power house that most opposing parties not only fear, but know before they even face him that they better do their homework and have the facts straight or he will exploit them completely. Bottom line is...when faced with a challenging legal dilemma, Matt is my first call. Call and talk to him if you need to and you will agree. Only few lawyers in this town would rate what I consider a "Superlawyer"...he is by far on that list. You might find cheaper representation, but you truly get what you pay for. He has been worth every dime to me and my family. In my opinion, he could charge double and still be worth it. Money is a small price to pay for the highest level of legal skill, knowledge and ability.
