Clark Aaron McVey

In March of 25 I was arrested and charged with numerous felonies, two of which were “Measure 11”. Measure 11 is a ballot measure that demands the offender serve time in prison, a minimum of 5 years. I’ve never been to prison, and hopefully never will. As my case progressed Mr McVey was open and ho...nest about what he expected the outcome to be. He lined up defense experts, investigators, and bounced ideas off the other attorneys at his firm. Mr McVey is very polite, professional, and very knowledgeable about the law and the politics at play in each county. Mr McVey was able to negotiate probation down from the 5 year minimum. I can unequivocally say that Mr McVey, and his firm, saved my life. I cannot express how grateful I am to Mr McVey for his hard work and dedication. I pray that I never need another attorney, but if I do I’m definitely sticking with Mr. McVey, you cannot go wrong with him!

I worked with Clark McVey at KN Defense after my previous attorney from the same firm abandoned my case. Unfortunately, my experience with Mr. McVey was extremely disappointing. During the time he was assigned to represent me, there was no sign of progress or a clear legal strategy. When I asked abou...t the status of my case, he provided no meaningful explanation or indication that he was reviewing or building upon the prior attorney’s work. I personally provided Mr. McVey with important impeachment evidence to ensure it would be submitted for pretrial proceedings, but I later discovered it was never turned in. When I obtained my case file, there was no record of substantial work having been done. I also discovered an internal email currently in my possession showing that Mr. McVey had been instructed by his supervising attorney not to contact the District Attorney’s Office regarding my case. I have documentation to verify all of this. Shortly before my unexpected arrest, I was informed by a law clerk (not Mr. McVey himself) that he would be leaving KN Defense. This left me blindsided and without proper legal support. It also became clear from internal communications that the supervising attorney planned to request additional, excessive fees even after two attorneys including Mr. McVey had already abandoned my case under his supervision. This experience caused me significant emotional distress and lasting harm. I’m sharing this review in good faith so that others can make informed decisions when choosing legal representation. In my personal experience, Clark McVey did not demonstrate the diligence, communication, or professionalism that clients deserve from their attorney.

Clark McVey is such a professional, wonderful attorney and person. Clark took on my case and from beginning to end, made me feel truly represented and cared for.
