Highly recommend
I hired Stephen Palmer for my Estate Planning needs. He and his assistant, Jessica Leuthold, were wonderful to work with and answered all my questions. I am very happy I chose to work with them and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality legal work.

Repeat customer
Mr. Palmer represented me a few years ago for a couple of different domestic relations issues over a period of about 6 years. In each case, he was open about the possible results and gave solid, reasonable advice. Although emotions ran high in my dom rel case, Steve steered me on a conciliatory course that helped me work with my ex-husband in a better way than I had been. Not sure if he's still doing family law, but I highly recommend him nonetheless.

Had to rush to get moms estate in order before death. Steven dropped everything that day and by afternoon he had all legal documents prepared. He and Karen then met with mom and I next day at care center to finalize all paperwork and then helped me file all legal papers. Steven is a trustworthy hard working attorney and I highly recommend him for your estate planning.

Very Pleased!!!
I first contacted Stephen via email for some preliminary advice for Spousal Support Modification, which he was very prompt to reply with direct advice so when I scheduled a meeting with him I would have all the information needed. Steve and I met just once and he gathered my information, drew up the paper work, filed it with the court, and it was signed by the judge in less than two weeks. Steve is a pleasure to work with and very prompt and professional!!! Thank you Steve!!!!

Excellent Attorney
I retained Steve as my divorce lawyer, as he was recommended to me by a friend. I have nothing but great things to say about Steve and his Paralegal. Steve knows exactly what he is doing and does not miss any details concerning alimony, property division, retirement funds etc.. Steve consistently encouraged me and gave me his best advice during my entire divorce process. Steve and his team were always quick to respond to my many questions and handled my divorce with professionalism and care. I greatly appreciate all of their hard work and looking out for my best interests from start to finish. I would highly recommend Steve and his team to anyone.

First Class Firm and Attorney
After receiving my first ever major offense-a DUII-I was in a state of disarray and shock. I was referred to Stephen Palmer and because of his experience, expertise and class, I am happy and thankful to say that I am on a path to recovery and putting this terrible and embarrassing incident behind me. Mr. Palmer and the entire staff at his firm were professional, attentive and incredibly helpful throughout the entire DUII, court and diversion process. Because of Mr. Palmer and his excellent service, I am happy to recommend him to anyone. He is an exceptional attorney and person and if you are in need of a quality lawyer, than call Stephen. He will make your life and it's challenges better for you. He did for me.

Steve made an overwhelming process easy for me!
After listening to several horror stories of friends that had to deal with not only the death of a loved one but also trying to navigate through the probate process, I decided to have a Living Trust made. Steve made this extremely easy for me - I'm still confused by the process but he walked me through it step by step and gave me such great direction that it didn't seem at all difficult. I know it will be so much less stressful for my children when I'm gone - which I don't plan on any time soon! Thank you, Steve!

Excellent Service, Extremely Knowledgeable
Recently my husband and I were going away on our first vacation in over a decade when it occurred to us that we had never put a will into place for our 3 children. Steve stepped in and helped us get our wills and poa's in place before we left on our trip, providing us and our family with extreme peace of mind & comfort. Steve is an exceptional lawyer .. very knowledgable. We highly recommend Steve Palmer.

Highly Recommend for Divorce/Child Custody Modification
I hired Steve in 2010 to help modify a Child Custody Modification. As in most divorce/custody situations mine had it frustrations and struggles. While I may have not always liked the advice, I found Steve to be knowledgeable and able to help me remove emotion from the situation. While I was content with my representation in hasn't been until recently that I have greatly appreciated Steve's work. Five years into the modification, my ex has become more difficult and I find myself looking at my paper work quite often. It is such a relief to have very specific and well defined paperwork. So far for every situation that has come up there is a specific response on my end that includes pointing to the paperwork. There is no question what it says or may mean. I also have a larger appreciation for Steve's work as he included things that may come up down the road. Specific example for me is Orthodontics. As we face my oldest needing them there are clear and defined statements to how these cost are to be split and dealt with between the two parties. For this forethought I am forever grateful!! While I never thought I would face divorce and child custody, I am greatly appreciative of the time and work Steve put in and there is no question that I will use his services again.

Great experience with Stephen!
My husband and I had a rather unfortunate experience with another attorney while trying to obtain our Wills and Power of Attorney documents. We went to Stephen for assistance, and he was very empathetic to our situation and knowledgeable about what needed done to ensure we had the correct documents in place. We are really wishing we had just gone to Stephen to get things done right the first time around -it would have saved us a headache! Stephen and everyone we dealt with at his firm were extremely friendly, professional, and responsive. I highly recommend Stephen, and will certainly go to him for any future legal needs. Thank you!

Help when you need it.
I contacted and retained Stephen Palmer in a criminal matter involving a dispute between my sibling and myself related to care of my father who suffers from dementia. Stephen was friendly and knowledgeable. He stepped and stayed with me through the whole process and was able to persuade the courts to as good an outcome as I could have hoped for. I am truly grateful I went with one of the best. Thank you Stephen.

Review
I retained Newberg Law's, Stephen Palmer, to prepare and file a motion, an order, and supporting documents. Due to his negligence, the motion was never filed. When opposing counsel made me aware of my attorney’s error and I confronted Mr. Palmer regarding his failure to complete the task, he offered numerous and varied explanations finally blaming it on a “paralegal error.” When I asked that he remove the charges related to this admitted error, he refused. Additionally, I was billed attorney time for a settlement conference for which Mr. Palmer failed to prepare, to which Mr. Palmer arrived unprepared, which Mr. Palmer attended without properly or professionally representing my interests and providing guidance, and which concluded with unsatisfactory results due to Mr. Palmer's poor performance. I have not yet disputed several thousands of dollars which I had paid Mr. Palmer previous to learning of his negligent business practices. I continue, however, to dispute the charges associated with the most extreme negligence on his part, which only became apparent as our professional relationship developed, and after I gained the fortunate perspective of receiving alternative, competent representation. To this day Mr. Palmer continues his refusal to credit my account for any of these disputed charges. Sadly, since that time I have learned of multiple former clients of Mr. Palmer who were similarly mistreated, e.g. Mr. Palmer billed for work that is not performed, did not prepare, and yet continued to bill his clients. Each of those individuals needed to hire subsequent counsel in order for their cases to be resolved, after the resignation or termination of Mr. Palmer. Because of this, I feel obligated by principles to, at the very least, make others aware of Newberg Law's unscrupulous business practices in hopes that these words of warning may prevent the chronic ethical deficit of Stephen Palmer from further injuring more unsuspecting individuals.

Response from Stephen Palmer July 26, 2016
As a lawyer who practices in a relatively small town I take my professional reputation seriously. Accordingly, I find these comments from a former client to be very disturbing, if true. Although respect to my former client's affairs cause me to not comment much further, it should be noted that I strongly disagree with this person's characterization of events. After I withdrew my representation, this client did not object to my monthly billing statements for two years. Only after her account was sent to collections, she then filed a bar complaint against me. After a complete investigation, the bar dismissed her complaint. She appealed that decision but again the bar dismissed her complaint. Unfortunately, the assigned collection agency felt it necessary to file a small claims suit against her which gave her a third opportunity for her to make these allegations. A Judge once again found in my favor and a judgment was rendered against her. The Judgment remains upaid. I still remain willing to work with her to resolve this account; instead, it appears she desires to attack my abilities and ethics on the internet. Postscript: Since writing this response a few years ago, I am happy to report that this former client contacted me and we are working on mending our relationship and discussing repayment options.
