Rachel Frances O'Neal

I am a trial lawyer who represents people who have been harmed by medical professionals. In 2020, I obtained a 2.8M verdict on behalf of a couple who suffered injuries following the delivery of their baby by a midwife who failed to timely diagnose and treat birth injuries. I am especially interested in representing women in cases involving obstetrics and gynecology but represent all kinds of patients who have suffered all kinds of injuries in the process of seeking medical care.

I have been in private practice since 2013, following working from 2009 through 2011 as a law clerk and from 2011 to 2013 as an associate attorney for a prominent Portland personal injury attorney and member of the American College of Trial Lawyers. I have handled civil litigation on behalf of plaintiffs involving medical negligence for the past eleven years, recovering over 7 million dollars in settlements and verdicts on behalf of my clients during that time. I have successfully resolved cases in Oregon against Oregon Health & Science University, Providence Health & Services, Oregon Emergency Physicians, Women's Healthcare Associates, and The Corvallis Clinic, as well as individual midwives and chiropractors in cases for injuries including obstetric anal sphincter injuries (OASIS), chemical burns, ruptured colon, dental injuries, nerve injuries, thyroid damage, and failed D&C, among others.

I also handle other civil actions involving vehicle collisions, intentional torts including battery and conversion, premises liability, fraud, misrepresentation and unfair trade practices, cases against drunk drivers and social hosts, and cases involving sexual abuse and abuse of vulnerable persons.
