Mark is extremely well connected. He was highly recommended to me and he exceeded my expectations. I'm ugly and bipolar, and he did a stellar job defending me.
It is unfortunate that people don't know how to work with attorney. They have a heavy case load and can't remember the details on the fly. They HAVE to refer to their files before giving an answer. Every case has it's own quirks. And people micromanage because they are infinitely more vested in the outcome (unless it's a contingent fee!--then BUYER BEWARE. you receive a 1/3 and get taxed on 100%).
Mark even told me that. How honest is that? BTW, the outcome was better than I expected. Thank you Mark. You really helped me out of a legal nightmare.

A title for a review for Mark Pihl would be difficult, because there are so many options. He never returned phone calls or emails. He misled me about legal matters. He tried to force me to plead guilty even though an option of complete charge dismissal was available. He actually added extra facts to the allegations against me, and repeated them as if they came from the mouth of the prosecutor. I waited six months for an answer about a motion to dismiss evidence, and it wasn't really answer- just his first realization of it as an issue to mislead me about. He is clearly in collusion with the judge and prosecutor, not interested in doing independent work advocating for his client. I do not recommend this lawyer. If he is court appointed to you, I suggest extreme caution. Watch his every step. Do not contradict him. In order to get return phone calls, I had to send a certified letter. You might have to do the same. He is overworked, gets facts about the case wrong (in one instance telling me that I had a finger injury, not a toe injury, "because it's in my notes"-- as if I didn't own the toe.) He is an expert at misguiding you. He will decide your guilt or innocence before trial, so smile a lot. He is not a fan of unattractive women. The prosecutor in my case was more professional, friendly, and honest than Mr Pihl and I got more information from her than from him. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
