I have made helping people through difficult circumstances my life's work. I have over 17 years experience helping families wrap up a loved ones final affairs, whether through probate, trust administration, a small estate, or accessing transfer-on-death assets.
My awareness of complicated family situations helps me assist people in creating workable estate plans and in navigating the probate process. I also enjoy helping people obtain a fresh financial start through bankruptcy.
I began my legal career prosecuting domestic assaults in the Clatsop County District Attorney's Office. Using my litigation experience, I opened and ran my own family law and bankruptcy practice in Astoria for 11 years.
In 2010, I helped found a nonprofit organization that provides volunteer advocates for foster children. I served as the first executive director for Columbia County's Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program until 2013.
From 2013 to 2015, I was an associate attorney with Portland law firm Kivel & Howard, where I handled a broad range of legal issues, including family law, estate planning, and landlord-tenant issues. I joined Gresham Family & Bankruptcy Law in February 2016.
Practice areas
Probate is a growing area of my practice. My cases range from routine probate to cases where family members are in dispute over how assets are to be distributed.

I help people make sure their wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and heath-care directives are ready when they need them.
20 years, 100 cases
I help people address their debt burden in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.
14 years
Currently, I am limiting my family law practice to name changes, guardianships, conservatorships, and adoptions. In the past, I have handled numerous divorces, custody disputes, modifications, and enforcement proceedings.
