Pay attention to the low rating reviews. This lawyer can’t be bothered.

I’m going to be vague intentionally, but I agree with the other low ratings. Missed appointments, low effort, seemed to not want to be bothered with my case while taking my money and then telling me I was probably in trouble and would talk to me later. This without knowing all the facts, or wanting t...o hear them. He was also snippy and harsh when it wasn’t necessary. Trust the low ratings. He’s no longer interested in fighting for his clients.

Responsive and informative

I used Jon for my DUI case and then in my probation violation involving my DUI. He was responsive and kept me informed. He was quick to reply to and answer my questions professionally and accurately. There were no surprises at court and everything was straight forward as explained to me previous to c...ourt.

Nightmare

I wish I didn't have to do this, but I feel potential clients should be warned about Jon Weiner before taking their cases to him. Mr. Weiner takes a volume approach to his clients. He takes on cases, puts in minimal effort, and basically leaves settlement to chance. He ended up costing me a lot of mo...ney, despite the strong case I brought to him. I very much regretted bringing my case to Mr. Weiner, after 3 other attorneys had gladly offered to take it due to the strong evidence in my favor. I am a lawyer by training, so I know what quality legal work looks like. In Mr. Weiner's representation, he did little more than churn out a handful of poorly-written letters to the other side. Inexplicably, early on in my case he refused to raise certain strong arguments in my favor, seemingly out of no other motive than laziness. While he later raised some of these arguments (in the form of written work product so poor I rewrote it for him, including basic things like transition sentences, which he then edited out without explanation), the delay weakened my position by pushing us up against the statute of limitations deadline. As the statute of limitations deadline approached, Mr. Weiner flat out refused to file a complaint, which would have strengthened my bargaining position and tolled the statute of limitations. He simply didn't want to make the effort. All the while Mr. Weiner was putting forth minimal effort on my case, he was consistently rude and condescending (in emails, because after I agreed to give him my case, I never again got the chance to speak with him on the phone). The guy represents the worst of the legal profession. No care for his clients, just an eye on making a buck with minimal effort. Do yourself a favor and steer clear.

Thank you for your review. I regret that I was unable to agree with your view of the case. Sometimes that happens. “No” is especially hard to hear when a prospective client feels very deeply that he or she has been badly wronged. It can be even harder in cases where a client has legal training and may feel justified in second-guessing the attorney he hired. However, that's precisely why attorneys generally don't represent themselves (it has long been said that "an attorney who represents himself has an idiot for a client"). In spite of our legal training, when we are the clients our objectivity can become suspect and our viewpoint skewed in order to confirm the personal bias we inevitably bring to our own cases. Relationship: Worked for lawyer

"I first made contact with Jon Weiner as opposing counsel. He was cordial and knowledgeable about employment law. I reached out to him when he was hiring and now work for him as an associate attorney. Jon genuinely cares about his clients and doing justice. Additionally, he is a treasure trove of legal knowledge with regard to employment law and criminal defense in particular. I would definitely endorse him and recommend his services to those looking around for a quality attorney who knows his stuff."
