Replied last September 05, 2019Mr. Ebaugh, this is the first negative review I have received in my 13 years of practicing law in Hawaii and it's important that I take a moment to respond. First, I appreciate your feedback and understand your frustration. As you noted, you requested a deed to hold property as Tenants by the Entirety with your wife. However, because your property is registered in land court and your wife changed her name for the marriage, this required an additional Land Court Petition be filed with the Land Court noting that name change. This is a separate document filed with the Land Court and recorded with the Bureau of Conveyances once approved. Our fees are in line with current market rates and are actually more reasonable than most because our flat rates include all filing fees, recording fees, and all taxes. I'm sorry you were disappointed with the charges, but all of this was explained to you prior to the commencement of any legal work or charges. I'm also sorry this process took longer than you or we would have liked, but I'm glad we were able to get your Land Court Petition and Deed completed and recorded. It's unfortunate you were disappointed with our services as we pride ourselves in offering the best possible services to all our clients. Thank you.
