Georgia K. McMillen

A few years ago, I called Georgia, to represent me in a divorce. I have never been through a divorce or had an experience with a lawyer, and so I was very apprehensive. Yet, after talking with Georgia for the first time I felt at ease. She had many admirable skills, still it was her responsiveness ...and listening skills I remember most, she always answered my phone calls and/or emails almost immediately, she always let me know when she had a court date and so would not be available. I remember, my ex husband was frantic because his lawyer did not tell him she would be on vacation for about two weeks (which was during a crucial time). I was divorced in less than five months. Our assets included two properties, and a small business. I did not get exactly what I wanted, but it was close. I am forever grateful to have hired Georgia and I would hire her again in a heartbeat! I hired Ms McMillen to complete my divorce proceedings and attempt to alter orders that were left a mess by my prior attorney, who created a legal mess. Ms McMillen took the time to meet with me and research my case to explore what options, if any, were available to me prior to accepting a retainer a...nd agreeing to provide services, which gave me an outline for how we could proceed. Throughout the process, I found her to be responsive and available. She was very upfront about what was possible and realistic. All of her work was detailed and complete and we were able to complete my case and receive all the orders necessary to keep my child safe. I am so appreciative that Ms McMillen agreed to take on my messy case when no one else would, and would recommend her to anyone looking for an honest, competent lawyer in Maui. Even though I had moved out of state, I felt like I received a high level of service and attentiveness to my case.

Georgia is very knowledgeable and compassionate. I was referred to her by a friend who used to be an attorney. I had called her for a consultation to gain some perspective on my case and to see if I should drop my lawyer. She really listens and gave very realistic advice. I would much rather hire... someone as diligent as Georgia instead.

Georgia was honest and very complete in her review of my case. She could have accepted my money and fought a case that was likely a losing battle. But rather than looking at financial gain she did the best she could with my budget and gave me sound advice. She went above and beyond for me and I since...rely appreciate her.
