Tamra Marie Otten

Tamra Otten, a native of California’s Bay Area, joined the law office of Eric Alan Berg and Associates in 2017. Tamra is a successful criminal defense lawyer and has favorably resolved cases for clients in a wide array of misdemeanor matters.

She has achieved results for clients facing all aspect of criminal litigation, whether the strategic goal be dismissal, favorable plea deal, or impactful presentation at trial. No matter the dispute, Tamra seeks to partner with clients to understand the challenges they face, and constantly strives to fulfill those needs with proven client-centered, community-oriented approaches that advance the client’s interests while producing optimal results.

Prior to joining the firm, Tamra worked for the Kern County Public Defender’s Office where she represented hundreds of misdemeanor clients. She gained trial experience, while successfully arguing suppression motions, Serna motions, and Pitchess motions.

Tamra obtained her Juris Doctor from City University of New York (CUNY), School of Law in 2014. She has been a member of the California Bar since January 2015.

At CUNY, Tamra focused her coursework on criminal procedure and criminal law. While in law school she interned at the Legal Aid Society in Queens, NY, representing clients in misdemeanor proceedings as well as assisting lawyers in motions practice and trials. She also interned at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, Juvenile Division and the Office of the State Public Defender.

Tamra earned her undergraduate degree from San Jose State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Justice Studies. She is an avid sports fan, and even more passionate about her hometown Golden State Warriors.
