About Douglas
Biography
I have spent the last 28 years of my career practicing 100% criminal law in the North State, and building relationships and a reputation. That reputation has developed overtime and has been influenced by the different roles I have played in the criminal justice system here. As a deputy public defender for 2 years, at a time when it was a privately run office with a contract with the county, I learned the ropes of criminal defense and became an effective advocate for the accused. As a Deputy District Attorney I leqarned the importance of keeping different cases in perspective, and what keys to look for to differentiate one case from another, even where the charges were the same. In other words, how to evaluate a case from the prosecution/ the people's perspectrive. I believe I deveoped a reputation for fairness over the 20 years I spent there, and that I was abel to pass that to younger lawyers I later came to supervise as a Senior Deputy District Attorney. Since then i have worked diligently to use that experience for the benefit of my clients, and have done so with considerable success.
