Carmel D’Amato is an outstanding family law attorney and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her and her team at Seinturier and D’Amato. Of particular importance to me, she listens carefully to her clients and asks good questions in order to understand their goals and needs. S...he provided me with excellent advice based on the facts of my case and what I told her my goals were. Of particular importance, she helped me understand the difference between what I wanted and thought was fair, based on what I read about California family law, and what were likely outcomes given the reality of California family law and the family law system in Shasta county. I was very impressed by Carmel’s ability to maintain her integrity, composure, and good humor despite the difficulties of this flawed system and the challenges of dealing with opponents who are willing to sacrifice their integrity and constantly mislead the court to gain an advantage. In the end, I got what I consider to be an excellent settlement that allowed me to move on with my life.

Carmel is absolutely amazing! She is very personable, eloquent, listens and understands more than you would originally think. I retained her for custody hearing which had a couple other difficult facets including criminal protective orders, positive drug tests, from the other parent, and she had n...o problem tackling it all. Her firm really hold your hand and prevents you from feeling alone through these hard times. I knew in my gut the first day I met her that she was exactly what I needed to protect my child. In my first appointment with her I gave her all the details and specifics and that was the only time I needed to. I found Carmel in a particularly difficult time in my life. I was going through a divorce and had small children at home to take care of. During one of my court appearances I noticed her. She was so poised, eloquent, professional and she knew what she was talking about. You could tell that the ju...dge was listening to what she had to say and her argument was sound. Once she was done with her case I followed her to the hallway and asked for a card. She was very pleasant and even asked me what was happening with my case. From that point on I knew that she was the attorney for me. She cared about what happened to me and my children. She wanted to make sure that I received the spousal and child support that I was entitled to. She was also a great help with figuring out how my ex and I should spilt the property, which was not an easy task. Another thing that I appreciated was that she would get back to me in a timely manner. I feel like one of the major things complaints people have is that their attorney never gets back to them. That is not the case with Carmel, she would always get back to me, the only time it would take a while is if she was in trial. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone.

After attempting to deal with my custody case alone for almost three weeks while attending my RN program, spending almost 12 hours of valuable study time in the Facilitator's office, and feeling like I could lose it trying to figure out the Family Court system, I decided to retain an attorney. Mrs. Seinturier was out of town when I called the office, so I set up a time to discuss my case with Carmel. I was surprised at how young she was and although she was very friendly and helpful, there were concerns that perhaps I should find someone with more experience.
