No communication

She was a good attorney at one time. When she lost her assistant, she lost it. If you want an attorney that doesn’t respond to your requests, calls, emails and does not communicate important things to you, by all means, hire her.

Outstanding Family Law Attorney

Carmel D’Amato is an outstanding family law attorney and I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her and her team at Seinturier and D’Amato. Of particular importance to me, she listens carefully to her clients and asks good questions in order to understand their goals and needs. S...he provided me with excellent advice based on the facts of my case and what I told her my goals were. Of particular importance, she helped me understand the difference between what I wanted and thought was fair, based on what I read about California family law, and what were likely outcomes given the reality of California family law and the family law system in Shasta county. I was very impressed by Carmel’s ability to maintain her integrity, composure, and good humor despite the difficulties of this flawed system and the challenges of dealing with opponents who are willing to sacrifice their integrity and constantly mislead the court to gain an advantage. In the end, I got what I consider to be an excellent settlement that allowed me to move on with my life.

A true powerhouse.

Carmel may be young but her level of knowledge is far beyond her years. I had such a great experience having her represent my case. She really levels with people, she talks to you not at you. She really knows how to get the job done. Never in my mind did I doubt I would lose my case having her by my... side. I highly recommend Carmel when dealing with custody matters. A true role model to young women. I was truly taken aback by her.

A True Professional

After attempting to deal with my custody case alone for almost three weeks while attending my RN program, spending almost 12 hours of valuable study time in the Facilitator's office, and feeling like I could lose it trying to figure out the Family Court system, I decided to retain an attorney. This ...was my first time dealing with family court and I was referred by a friend to Linda Seinturier. Mrs. Seinturier was out of town when I called the office, so I set up a time to discuss my case with Carmel. I was surprised at how young she was and although she was very friendly and helpful, there were concerns that perhaps I should find someone with more experience. After a long discussion, those feelings of apprehension soon faded and I retained her the next day. It was the BEST decision I could have made!! She immediately took charge and began getting our ducks in a row. I could finally breathe again. Over the next several months leading up to our trial, I was thoroughly impressed with her professionalism, promptness and execution in every step of the process. She listened intently when I called her office to discuss a new incident with my children's father or had a question and never seemed rushed or bothered (and I called A LOT!). She could recall details of my case without reference. She learned my file inside and out. Every time we entered the courtroom, she was dressed impeccably, which shows she takes pride in herself and her client. She gave me good, sound legal advice which often made me forget just how new to the game she was. She went up against one of the most experienced attorneys in town and never waivered, never missed a step, never showed any uncertainty in her conviction. Do not underestimate her!! Being new means making a name for herself in our small community, one that will follow her throughout her career. She is doing just that and I honestly couldn't have asked for better representation in my case. Highly recommended!!

To young for the job

Carmel is a young and witty however she did a horrible job keeping me informed in what all was happening in the court room and protecting my child for a dangerous spouse who has harmed me and my child. She fail to give you all the information one should need to know when it comes to trial such as the... mediators are on strike ect. I remember I asked what the hell is going on why is my child not being protected and she snapped back at me and told me it wasn't her job to explain herself to me. I feel if your not understanding something that is happening then that is your attorney's job to explain what is happening in the court room.
