Crista Lanae Benedict

Crista Benedict has been amazing for my custody case, she was one of the few attorneys who shared my concerns, she has a small child of her own and saw exactly where I was coming from. I’m very pleased to have retained her and stuck with her, that is not to say that there weren’t times of frustration... due to the speed at which the case moved, which might be a similar complaint found elsewhere in the reviews, but that has more to do with the nature of the legal system than with Crista’s lack of commitment. Often times I would receive an email at 12:30 at night after she had been at the office all day, she somehow found time to be both a mother and a dedicated professional. Another example is during a recovery after surgery she was working, which is very impressive. I can be a difficult customer at times, but Crista was patient and tempered my decisive nature with caution. If you hire her, I encourage patience, she is like a steam engine, she may appear slow at first but given time she works much faster delivering powerful persuasive arguments.

By the end of my time working with Crista on my divorce, I truly could not decide if I was happier to be done with her or my ex. She was the queen of excuses, late deadlines, no response for exorbitant time frames and having to "catch up" on my dime each time we did talk because it had been so long s...ince she had looked at my file. Multiple times I had to get my paperwork together a second (and third) time because it required the last few months of current statements. It was a painful experience and lacked professionalism and common courtesy. With that said, the one day that I needed her to step up, she did and my divorce settlement was fair. That one single meeting greatly impacted my future, and it was a positive outcome. I would not choose to use Crista in the future because I trust that someone could have arrived at the same end result without hours of frustration and a ton of money spent on hours that were due to her lack of attentiveness. Proceed with caution and be prepared to do much of the work yourself.
