Patricia G. Vellanoweth-Galvez

Patricia Galvez is an accomplished attorney with over 29 years of litigation and workers’ compensation experience.  She was selected from a group of attorneys to litigate and represent

the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office on various misdemeanor and felony cases. 

She led a team and performed a range of training drills for legal interns.

Patricia was personally selected by both the State Compensation Insurance Fund (SCIF) State Contract District Manager and its Attorney in Charge to exclusively represent the State Assembly,

the Senate, and Legislative Counsel in all related workers’ compensation cases.  Patricia has also been selected to represent the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation as its lead attorney

for Northern California, and specifically represent the Department of Human Resources,

Cal Trans, Franchise Tax Board, California Highway Patrol, Cal Fire, State Hospitals, CDPH,

Department of Mental Health and the DMV on very high profile, extremely complex, and

sensitive workers’ compensation cases.  Her innovative negotiation skills have saved the State of California millions of dollars in potential workers’ compensation claims.  She has also served on various Committees requiring legislative analysis, interpretation, and final implementation of regulations for processing SCIF claims.  Patricia has also served as a Subject Matter Expert for workers’ compensation legislation interpretation, as a Keynote Speaker at various symposiums throughout the State, as well at various training seminars for both Claims and Attorney Regional Conferences/Hub meetings.  She has served as the top Legal Analyst on behalf of State Fund relating to audits conducted by Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Workers’ Compensation to include PAR and FCA audits.
