Finding yourself on the other side of the table from someone you expected to spend your life with is hard at best, traumatizing at its worst. These highly-pressured family situations are better served, IMO, with the humane touches of kindness, and the feeling of family and support. That is what I fel...t and continue to feel about Kevin’s Family Law Office. Kevin M. Cecil goes above and beyond. I have known him over 7 years now. He is present, quick-minded, engaged, protective, proactive, and aware of your needs. Watching him at work, it was totally obvious he was in his element. You never knew how many other cases he had--- because he found a way to make you feel your case was just as important to HIM as yourself. He puts himself fully into your unique situation with concern for your getting your best possible outcome. He is not only attentive to detail, he actively listens, and you readily, and consistently, understand that Kevin has your back. I feel the need to also address Cathy, who was simply amazing. She got me through a lot. They worked very well together to make a challenging experience as smooth as they could. While nobody’s fault I filed right as the Covid19 pandemic was starting and so what should have taken a few months turned into a year-long process of hearing cancellations, court closings and delays. They responded very quickly to my emails and phone calls as well as my pain going through the process. I was not an easy client. It seems many businesses try to create a one-size-fits-all container. That continues to be a hardship in life for me. High anxiety and panic disorder etc., made me hard to deal with on top of the stress of the situation. I would say they don't understand how difficult it was for me.. but I cannot because they were there the entire year with me. They never lost their temper with my questions and concerns and kept calmly guiding and reassuring me that I would make it through to the other side. To someone like me that handling of my issues was/is priceless. I am truly grateful beyond words to both Kevin and Cathy. For real, I have nothing negative to say. In fact, I can’t say enough. Except thank you for everything!!!! I recommend Kevin fully and completely for your family legal wants and needs.

I contacted Mr. Cecil in July regarding a situation between my husband, his daughter and I. I talked to Mr. Cecil about a possible Restraining Order on both my husband and his daughter along with filing for divorce. I hired Mr. Cecil and he filled out the documents for both requests we talked about... and sent them through the court system for approval. Both requests were approved and an initial Court date was set. My husband was served with both the Restraining Order and Divorce papers were served. Mr. Cecil and Cathy Fangonilo sent the different forms needed for me to fill out for my financial information and what was mine before the marriage and what we bought together during the marriage, My attorney would make any changes to documents I didn't agree with that my husband would submit through his attorney until we (my husband and I) would come to an agreement on property. We had our second court date in which both attorneys were supposed discuss and send a proposal to the Judge for him to look over and render his decision before our next court date. The Judge ruled in my husbands favor but it was unfortunate that my husband passed away before our next court date. Both Mr. Ceicil and Cathy were both very knowledgeable and answered all my question and kept me up to date on what to expect.

Just before the dawn of COVID 19, I approached Kevin with a need for representation. Meeting for 30 minutes and talking it over, the case was suppose to make a quick 45 day turn around. But people change their minds sometimes, thus we started on the journey of California Law. During the process, I ha...d many failed court cases, no fault of Kevin's but rather the legal system. Kevin and Cathy (which are a ferocious legal team) maintained me like a loved family heirloom. We exchanged words and had some rough patches, which most lawyers would of discharged their position as representative. He stuck firmly beside me and listened to my side of any disagreements, as I can be a real ***hole sometimes! He doesn't always talk a lot but he demonstrates a honest compassion. The two of them worked with me every step of the way. Even when I felt like the end of the world was a single step in front of me, they went out of their way to reassure me, things will be fine. He also has to be one of the most honest people I know. Literally! He was blunt and straight forward. Even if I didn't like what he had to say! I would without a doubt open my house to him, it is hard to explain how the two of them can really pull you in as family! Kevin also demonstrates the "big brother" behavior, almost protective! You can find many reasons to go to other lawyers. But they would only be reasons to talk yourself out of good representation. Rather it be age/price/haircut you would be missing out. I spent a year working with Kevin and Cathy and have witnessed many lawyers in action. I shutter to think what would of come of it all, had it been any of them I had decided on. The final resolution wasn't what I wanted, but rather more! I was granted custody, permission to relocate to another country, court order stating she had to give me any signature/paperwork I needed to make it happen. If your still reading your waiting for the ultimate verdict, in 2020 through the entirety of COVID 19 Kevin and Cathy were with me every step of the way, every court case, every meeting, every time I asked questions. If you need a lawyer, that simply doesn't jack you around. Talk to him, get a consultation! Remember if all else fails you could hire him as a consultant. Though that means more paperwork for you. I wouldn't recommend a single individual over Kevin.
