Associate attorney Andrew G. Minney has been a civil litigator for 16 years and has practiced in state and federal courts throughout Northern and Southern California. Before joining Dreyer Babich Buccola Wood Campora, LLP, in February 2016, Andrew was associated with two highly regarded insurance defense firms where he handled the firms' most complex and high exposure cases. Andrew has also been highly successful in the appellate courts and is credited with the long-standing Third District's published opinion in Shepard v. Mackay (2006). He has recently prevailed in the Second District Court of Appeals in Los Angeles, which upheld summary judgment on the issue of a public school's duty to protect students coming and going from campus.
Andrew obtained his undergraduate degree in political science at the University of California, Irvine. He graduated from UCI with honors and relocated to the Bay Area, where he began working in the insurance industry as a claims examiner for CSAA. While working full-time in the insurance industry, Andrew attended John F. Kennedy School of Law in Walnut Creek, California. Andrew obtained his Juris Doctor in December 1998, passed the February 1999 California Bar examination, and was admitted to the California Bar in June 1999. During his final year of law school, Andrew was the first student to join the Contra Costa County Chapter of the American Inns of Court, which is an organization comprising primarily attorneys and judges and is devoted to the promotion of civility, ethics, and public service in the practice of law. Andrew continued to be an active member of the Inns of Court until relocating to the Sacramento Area in 2002.
Andrew's experience on both sides of the aisle makes him a skilled and savvy litigator. He is a devoted and loyal advocate who utilizes his extensive experience to advance the cause of injured victims and their loved ones.
Andrew and his wife serve as emergency foster parents for children in Sacramento County, having taken in dozens of displaced children. During the past 10 years, Andrew has served as a scout leader and soccer coach, and he is an avid cyclist, swimmer and skier.
