Helped us in our son’s difficult and complicated case.

The entire process of finding an educational attorney can be intimidating and difficult. We are glad we found Michelle. Michelle Ball helped us in our son’s difficult and complicated case. Our son was accused by another student of wrongdoing on his walk home from school. Upon the school learning ...of this, relying almost exclusively on the accusers version of the events, illegally interrogated our son along with the police and suspended him with a recommendation for expulsion. Further, the school decided to email the entire school community about the matter. Michelle negotiated with the district and prepared a diligent and compelling memorandum which resulted in the school dropping the expulsion and agreeing to destroy the records of the event, upon certain conditions. This was a good result given the situation. Additionally, although we do not live near Michelle's Sacramento office, the distance was not a factor. We successfully communicated via many emails and phone calls. Michelle was speedy with her response times, despite her very busy schedule. I would recommend Michelle Ball for any family who would ever need an educational lawyer!

She is the BEST!

I found Michelle in my research to help my son in his expulsion case. From the first conversation, she was extremely understanding and helpful, and she assisted us every step of the way. She was very supportive and made us truly feel like we weren't alone in this fight. Although we live in Gilroy and... her offices are in Sacramento, the distance wasn't an inhibiting factor at all; she was able to easily help our case from a over a hundred miles away. Instead of going to a hearing that we would surely lose, Michelle found us an out and won my son's position to stay in the district! In a heartbeat, I would recommend Michelle Ball for any family who would ever need an educational lawyer!

Convincing the school district to allow my son repeat 9th grade.

I can not thank enough Michelle, for the great help and professionalism she had shown while solving our situation with my son. Through her hard work, dedication and ingenuity she was able to convince the school district ,that my son deserves to be retained and allowed to repeat 9th grade. The distric...t was pushing him to 10th grade disregarding 3 doctors recommendations. The school district fought us for several months but eventually we won and the right decision was made. Michelle was instrumental in battling with the district and make them offer my son what was all along the correct and honest resolution to his specific medical situation. Michelle is the best!

Protecting the rights of a dyslexic student

My learning disabled daughter had her 504 plan terminated unjustly. They told us that because my dyslexic daughter was earning fantastic grades she was no longer eligible for accommodations through a 504 plan. I consulted with Ms. Ball regarding her legal rights. She felt that the school district h...ad definitely made a mistake by making a major change in placement without a new evaluation and informed me that if my daughter didn't receive accommodations in high school she couldn't have them in college. I couldn't allow that to happen. She wrote a letter to the school district stating that my daughter's 504 plan termination was improper and cited pertinent laws. The district had the principal call me and arrange a new 504 meeting. Her accommodations were restored and he made it clear that they would do whatever was needed to support my daughter's academic success. This was a complete 180 degree turn around from the message I was given by the "team" in two lengthy meetings. It was worth the investment (legal fee) to assure that my daughter gets the accommodations she is legally entitled to and very much needs in order to earn the grades for which she is capable.

Perfect clean result

I found Michelle by google search. I visited her website, read the fees information and her articles of professional advice on educational legal matters. I was very encouraged. So I called to make our first consultation appointment. She was very efficient in our meeting. She gave us honest analysis o...n our case. We hired her without hesitation. She was very responsive and stayed on top of everything. After reading the pre-meeting materials, she gave us advice and strategies. The material was devastating. Michelle told us upfront that it could very likely lead to expulsion. But Michelle managed to negotiate for us to get result of no suspension and no expulsion. We are very happy about this result. Without Michelle, we were not able to get this perfect result. Thank you so much Michelle!!!
