I'm so glad I picked Ms. Deos as my lawyer. I decided to file Ch. 7 bankruptcy after years of struggling with inescapable credit debt post-pandemic. I had a private student loan with AES, American Education Services. The loan amount was for 88,000. I had paid on the loan for 6-7 years. Ran into some hard times and wasn't able to pay it. And for about 5 years I had no contact with AES nor did I make a payment. I was sued, showed up on my door step... and served me papers.... I cant tell you how many attorney's tell you "kick rocks" when they hear what type of debt I had. Linda was able to take care of this. My case ended around 2015 in El Dorado County. The debt still showed up on my credit report as of July 2018.. By October 2018 the student loan is gone. All three reports show AES is no longer on my credit. Linda is GREAT!!!!! My husband and were victims of identity theft and our entire life savings stolen from our financial institutions. We identified the responsible party and the police are investigating. I went to Ms. Deos for help in pursuing the financial institutions for their lack of fiduciary responsibility, I ...gave her a $1000 retainer. I heard nothing from her until FIVE MONTHS later when she emailed me and said she would need another $10,000 to continue and that amount would go up. I got absolutely nothing for the $1000 retainer and had to find another attorney. Her delay greatly jeopardized our case. When I requested a refund, she finally sent me an itemized list of what she supposedly did. Included in that list was a charge for the one hour "complementary" consultation she promised me. When I told her I still wanted a refund she send me a refund check supposedly for two hours of her time. When I challenged the amount because it was no ways near what she claimed as her hourly fee, she sent me an additional check for $100. She still refuses to reimburse me for what she charged me for the "complementary" one hour consultation I am entitled to through my prepaid legal membership. Dealing with her has been a nightmare we did not need.
