also known as Alex McKay
Alex began working with NorCal Advocates after almost a decade of representing injured workers in the workers compensation system. He grew up in the suburbs of Orange County, California, where he learned the value of a labor while working in various service jobs such as a grocery store clerk, production assistant, outdoor vendor, prep cook, front of house special events staff, and banquet house-person, among others.
Alex went to college at UC Riverside, where he double majored in political science and history. He came to the Sacramento area to attend University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and graduated with distinction. During law school, Alex fell in love with Sacramento’s vibrant community and has called it home since then.
Alex has spent his legal career exclusively representing injured workers. His background in the service industry instilled a deep respect for the fortitude needed for customer service, resilience required for physically demanding jobs, camaraderie forged with co-workers, and the pride in a job well done. Alex has come to understand how much someone’s life can be disrupted by a workplace injury, and is committed to easing the burden on his clients during these difficult cases.

"I have had the opportunity to attend multiple presentations by Alex McKay on California workers’ compensation law, and each time I’ve been impressed by both his command of the material and his genuine commitment to helping injured workers understand their rights. Alex has a rare ability to explain complex workers’ compensation issues in a clear, practical, and accessible way—something that matters enormously for clients navigating an already stressful system. His presentations reflect not only deep knowledge of California workers’ compensation law, but also a real passion for advocacy and fairness. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone seeking a knowledgeable and principled workers’ compensation attorney who truly cares about the people he serves."
